Ione Woman Passes Away from Injuries Sustained in Collision that sent Her Vehicle into Pardee Reservoir

San Andreas, CA...CHP has issued a sad update that Autumn Hernandez, 35 of Ione has passed away from her injuries. From our earlier report on the collision..."An Ione Woman was driving her Hyundai northbound on Sandretto Road (Pardee Dam Rd), north of Campo Seco Road, traveling at an unknown speed. As she was entering a left hand curve in the roadway for northbound traffic, for a yet to be determined reason, she allowed the Hyundai to travel off of the roadway and collide with the wood/metal guardrail. The Hyundai then continued over the guardrail, and down a dirt embankment. Her vehicle then rolled over, and came to rest, on its roof, submerged in Pardee Reservior. Citizens were able to pull her from the vehicle prior to emergency personnel arriving on scene. She was transported by Air Ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries." CHP San Andreas updated their release to note that she passed away on October 24th

Yosemite, CA...A male and female visitor died in an apparent fall from Taft Point in Yosemite National Park. Yosemite National Park Rangers are recovering the bodies this morning. This incident is under investigation and no further details are available. No photos or videos are available. The identification of the deceased has not yet been determined.

Additional Information Regarding Robbery in Mokelumne Hill Yesterday

Mokelumne Hill, CA...The following is to update information regarding the reported robbery in Mokelumne Hill yesterday (10-23-18): On 10-23-18 at approx. 0930 hours Deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 26 and Campo Seco Turnpike Road in Mokelumne Hill where a female victim reported that her vehicle tire had been shot after she followed robbery suspects from her residence on Jojoba Lane. The victim told deputies that she woke up to a male suspect inside her house. She reported that he took several hundred dollars and fled along with several other subjects in a green colored Mustang. The victim along with another person left the residence and began searching for the suspect’s vehicle in the area. The victim located and followed the suspect’s vehicle to the area of Highway 26 and Campo Seco Turnpike Road in Mokelumne Hill at which point both vehicles stopped. The male suspect fired a single shot at the victim’s vehicle, striking the tire and disabling the victim’s vehicle. (Attached picture of the victim’s vehicle tire).

Washington, DC...The U.S. Secret Service has intercepted two suspicious packages addressed to Secret Service protectees. Late on October 23, 2018, the Secret Service recovered a single package addressed to Former First Lady Hillary Clinton in Westchester County, New York. Early this morning, October 24, 2018, a second package addressed to the residence of Former President Barack Obama was intercepted by Secret Service personnel in Washington, DC.

Matthew Grogg, 23 Arrested in Jupiter Area Homicide Case

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept..."A week-long investigation by Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Detectives has ended in an arrest for the killing of a Jupiter man. On the evening of October 16th, deputies were called out to a home on Italian Bar Road near Rose Creek for a report of a man who had been shot. 31-year-old Scott Andrew Rockey was found dead outside his home.

FBI on Investigation of Suspicious Packages

Washington, DC...Between October 22 and 24, 2018, suspicious packages were received at multiple locations in the New York and Washington, D.C., areas and Florida. The packages are being sent for analysis at the FBI Laboratory in Quantico, Virginia. “This investigation is of the highest priority for the FBI. We have committed the full strength of the FBI’s resources and, together with our partners on our Joint Terrorism Task Forces, we will continue to work to identify and arrest whoever is responsible for sending these packages,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray. “We ask anyone who may have information to contact the FBI. Do not hesitate to call; no piece of information is too small to help us in this investigation.”
