Groveland, CA...On 02-19-2019 at approximately 1441 hours, CHP Officers were notified by a citizen of a possible vehicle over the side of State Route 120, east of Grizzly Creek. CHP Officers arrived in the area, and after an extensive search, located a 2003 Honda Accord, approximately 200 feet down the embankment. The Honda had suffered major collision damage. The vehicle was registered to a reported missing person out of the city of Lodi. While continuing to search the area, CHP Officers located the body of a deceased male nearby. The identity of the deceased male has not been confirmed. The collision is still under investigation and it appears that the seatbelt as not worn. The identity is pending confirmation and notifications. (Update)...Nelson A. Valdez the registered owner of the vehicle was reported missing on January 24. A local Groveland resident out on a hike, saw what he believed was a car down the embankment. Using binoculars, he noticed the vehicle was a newer model and notified CHP. It is unknown when the collision occurred.
Calaveras County Parking Restrictions During Snow Removal Operations

San Andreas, CA...During this past weekend there were many instances throughout the County where residents and visitors parked vehicles on County and State Routes to stop and enjoy the snow. Unfortunately, by parking in the road and along the County right-of-way personal vehicles kept County staff from clearing the snow in several areas and created a serious hazard for the traveling public and our Public Works snow removal staff. Calaveras County Public Works Department requests that all residents and visitors to Calaveras County be aware of Calaveras County Ordinance No. 2154 – Prohibits Parking During Snow Removal Operations. This ordinance states the following:

Ft. Mitchell, KY...Today, Lin Wood and Todd McMurtry filed their first lawsuit on behalf of Nicholas Sandmann against The Washington Post. The lawsuit filed is included below. The suit seeks $250 million in both compensatory and punitive damages. Lin and Todd will continue to bring wrongdoers before the court to seek damages in compensation for the harm so many have done to the Sandmann family. This is only the beginning.
