Sonora, CA...On September 19, 2018, at about 2000 hrs, Officers responded to 578 West Stockton Street for a report of a subject wanted for charges of felony domestic violence charges. It was believed the suspect was inside the business of Throttle Jockeys. It had been reported to the police department the subject, Adric Robert White had choked his girlfriend to the point it popped blood vessels in her eye and left bruises on her neck.

Child Passenger Safety Seat Check Event This Saturday

Sonora, CA...Every day, thousands of parents and caregivers in California travel with children in their vehicle. During Child Passenger Safety Week, September 23-29, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will work with its traffic safety partners throughout the state to make sure all children are riding safely. In a nationwide study, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) found that two out of three car seats are misused. Motor vehicle collisions are a leading killer of children, and NHTSA data shows that such fatalities are on the rise, with 2016 being the deadliest for children under the age of 13 riding in vehicles.

West Point, CA..On September 19, 2018 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at an address on Acorn Way in West Point. Several outbuildings at this property near the main residence had been converted for marijuana processing/drying and several bunkhouse living quarters had been constructed. 225 large marijuana plants were eradicated from the site.

Governor Brown on Death of Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy

Sacramento, CA...Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. on September 17th issued the following statement regarding the death of Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Stasyuk: “Anne and I extend our deepest condolences to Deputy Stasyuk’s family, loved ones and colleagues and ask all Californians to keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.” Deputy Stasyuk, 27, was fatally shot September 17th while responding to a disturbance at a business in Rancho Cordova. Another Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured during the incident and is recovering.

Lee D Glenn, 60 of Railroad Flat Passed Away in Rail Road Flat Road Collision

Rail Road Flat, CA...On Saturday, September 15, 2018, at an unknown time Glenn was riding his motorcycle south on Railroad Flat Rd, south of Sierra Oaks Dr. at an unknown speed. As the roadway curved to the left, Glenn failed to follow the roadway and allowed his vehicle to drive off the right roadway edge. The vehicle struck a tree and both the motorcycle and Glenn came to rest at the bottom of a steep culvert, 10-12 feet below the roadway edge. Glenn was reported as missing person to the Calaveras County Sheriff Department and the CHP and the Sheriff Department searched an area south of the collision scene based off of GPS from Glenn's cell phone. The area was searched on Monday night and Tuesday afternoon. CHP airplane, Air-21, was used to search from the sky. All searches were unsuccessful. The collision was discovered on September 18, 2018, at 5:30 pm by a resident checking their mailbox.

Candidate’s Debate Night September 27th in Angels Camp

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Calaveras County Association of Realtors will be hosting a Candidate’s Debate Night for Supervisorial and Sheriff Candidates. This event will take place on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Bret Harte Theatre located at 323 South Main Street in Angels Camp. Candidates will be available for the Meet and Greet at 5:00pm followed by the debate from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Supervisorial candidates will participate in a debate format while the Sheriff candidate participates in a Q&A.

Subject Arrested after Altercation and Running from Deputies

Valley Springs, CA...On 9-17-18 at approx. 0815 hours CCSO Deputies responded to a residence in the 6000 block of Highway 26 for reports of an altercation between a male and two females. Upon arrival Deputies spoke with two females (age 21 and 22) who stated they were visiting a male, (s) Nicholas Kohring (age 28 of Valley Springs), at this location and had arrived here after being at a bar out of county the night before. The two females reportedly were prevented from leaving by (s) Kohring who also made threats towards them.

Crime Doesn't Always go as you Plan in Amador County.

Martell, CA...From the Amador Sheriff's Dept..."On September 17th, 2018 at around 2:44PM, Joseph Homer Modrall, age 34 of Sacramento and Gary Wayne Modrall, age 69 of Sacramento, decided to go shopping for a victim at Save Mart Grocery Store in Martell. While Gary Modrall waited outside in the parking lot, Joseph Modrall entered Save Mart and snatched a purse from a womans shopping cart. That's when the plan fell apart.
