Angels Camp, CA....On January 6, 2018 at approximately 1:40 PM, officers from the Angels Camp Police Department and deputies from the Calaveras Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the Frog Jump Plaza parking lot for a report of a male and female yelling at each other in the presence of a young child.

Alleged Assault By Propane Torch In Tuolumne

Tuolumne, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept.."On Sunday evening, 53-year-old Craig Williams of Tuolumne threatened the life of one of his neighbors. He did not stop there…Not only did he make the mentioned threat, but he also tried lighting the victim’s car on fire with a propane torch and then threw the lit propane torch at the victim.

Jamestown, CA...Rodney served as a US Army Ranger in Panama and during the Bosnian conflict. He is a disabled vet living in Jamestown and just returned after Christmas to find his home had been struck by Burglars. Our deputies responded and started an investigation but, until the crooks are caught, one deputy wanted to do more.

Sonora, CA...SPD is attempting to identify the man shown below. The suspect stole a purse and a cell phone from an employees vehicle at Walmart. The suspect then made purchases at local businesses with the debit/credit cards that were taken. Suspects physical description is between 6'-6'3", tattoos on both forearms and possibly on his neck. Associated vehicle is a light tan or gold Chevy or GMC pick up with a silver toolbox, after market grill.

Traffic Update....Crazy Chase Around Arnold Area...Suspect Still on Loose

Arnold, CA...After an apparent residential robbery law enforcement officials from numerous agencies have been up and down Hwy 4, on residential streets, Forest Service Roads and now the vehicle has been abandoned in the Avery area. So now it is a foot search to apprehend the subject. Please use caution in the area and locking your doors might be a good idea and be on the lookout for the suspect. (Update as of 6:06pm...We just checked in with CCSO and the suspect is not in custody yet) (Update as of 7pm. We checked in with CCSO & CHP and the suspect is still at large.)

Arnold, CA...James (Jim) F Lantry born in San Francisco, CA., on January 11th, 1932, passed away at home in Antioch, CA., on January 4th, 2018. Survived by his wife of 59 years Connie Lantry, his daughter Kassie Perkins of Antioch, CA., his granddaughter Cassandra Perkins of Roseville, CA. Preceded in death in 2015 by his son Michael W Lantry of Concord, CA.

Four Modesto Residents Booked Into Tuolumne County Jail of Various Charges

Jamestown, CA...An early morning vehicle registration check lands four Modesto residents into the custody of the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office. Just after 3:00AM today, Deputy V. Lee checked the registration status of a blue Mitsubishi sedan parked at the Whistle Stop gas station in Jamestown. The car just so happened to be reported stolen according to the Modesto Police Department.

Hwy 108 Head on Collision Takes Life of Turlock Man

Jamestown, CA...On Wednesday, January 3, 2018, just before 2 pm, a 23 year old Turlock resident, Eddie Fernando Gonzales Jr, was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on State Route 108/120, east of Lancaster Road at approximately 55 mph, negotiating a right hand curve in the road. At this time, 54 year old Los Altos resident, Edward Laverone, was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound on State Route 108/120, east of Lancaster Road at approximately 55 mph, negotiating a left hand curve in the road. For unknown reasons, Mr. Gonzales allowed his Jeep to travel over the double yellow lines into the eastbound lane, directly into the path of Mr. Laverone. Mr. Laverone was unable to take evasive action to avoid a collision and the vehicles collided head-on. The Jeep came to rest on its wheels facing a easterly direction and blocking the westbound lane. The Tahoe came to rest on its wheels facing a north easterly direction blocking the east bound lane.
