Railroad Flat Man Arrested On Methamphetamine Sales Related Charges

Rail Road Flat, CA...On 1-04-18 Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Investigators served a search warrant at a mobile home located in the 1400 block of Railroad Flat Road, Railroad Flat. At this location deputies seized methamphetamine and paraphernalia indicative of drug sales as well as several thousand dollars cash. The sole occupant of the house during service of the warrant was arrested on various drug related charges. Michael Miller (age 61 of Railroad Flat) was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on $40,000 bail for the following charges...

Gary L. Stevens Announces His Candidacy For Calaveras Sheriff

San Andreas, CA...Gary L. Stevens, long time Calaveras County resident has announced his that he has filed his election papers as a candidate for Sheriff. Stevens, 53, is a former Calaveras Deputy Sheriff and currently works as a District Attorney Investigator. He and his wife Nicki, and their son live in San Andreas.

Massive Poached Sacramento County Deer Leads to Trophy Penalty Enhancement

Sacramento, CA...A Sacramento County man entered a no contest plea in December to charges of poaching a huge blacktail deer in Sacramento County. John Frederick Kautz, 51, of Lodi, was charged with possession of an illegally poached deer and falsification of deer tag reporting information, both misdemeanors, following a three-month investigation.

Mail Theft at Sonora US Post Office

Sonora, CA...During the New Year's Holiday weekend unknown suspect(s) broke into the drive up postal drop box at the Sonora Post Office located at 781 S. Washington Street. An unknown amount of mail was taken from the box. The Sonora Police Department encourages anyone who dropped mail containing checks or bank/credit card account information to closely monitor your account history and cancel any credit cards if unauthorized transactions occur on your accounts.

Just another Not So Routine Traffic Stop Made By Tuolumne Sheriff Deputies…

Sonora, CA...At 10:35 last night, a traffic enforcement stop was made at Stockton Road in Sonora on a red Pontiac Grand Prix for a couple of equipment violations. The passenger, 39-year-old Joshua Kaufman, was arrested for two misdemeanor warrants.

Arnold, CA...From reader Matthew Murphys..."Employee arrived to open. Noticed person inside. Called 911. Calaveras county deputies apprehended subject. Rumor is they had to tase him for non-compliance. 20 something year old Matt. Unknown last name. Same guy that stole a Jeep and busted into JJ's and stole the register about two years ago. He was released from jail less than twenty four hours ago after serving some kind of sentence"

Felony DUI Charges For Sonora Man

Sonora, CA...On Saturday, just after 1:30 p.m., the Sonora Police Department responded to an injury collision on Mono Way near Sanguinetti Road. When the officer arrived on scene, he identified the driver of a gray 2006 BMW sedan as 24-year-old Ryan E. Morrison of Sonora. Morrison was determined to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of this collision.

Sonora, CA...A Sheriff’s Deputy patrolling on Mono Way near the Junction Shopping Center in Sonora, observed a silver Mercedes Benz driving through the stop light at Tuolumne Road and Mono Way at a high rate of speed. By the time the deputy turned around to locate the vehicle, it was gone. A records check of the vehicle’s license plate determined it was reported stolen out of Visalia in March of this year.

Injuries, Medi-Flight Ride and a DUI Make for an Unpleasant Christmas for Mokelumne Hill Man.

West Point, CA...On Christmas Day A 56 year old Mokelumne Hill man was traveling westbound on SR26 just east of Spink Road. Due to his intoxication, he allowed his Dodge pickup to travel off of the roadway and it collided into a power pole guide wire and a tree, and the pickup then overturned into a ditch. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI and then flown to Modesto Memorial for his injuries.
