Forest Service Extends Closure of Most Developed Recreation Sites on Stanislaus National Forest Through May 31

Sonora, CA... The Stanislaus National Forest announced that most developed recreation sites will remain closed through May 31, 2020. The regional closure order 20-03 closed all designated recreation sites and campgrounds through May 15. Local forest order STF-16-2020-07 will be in effect beginning May 16, 2020 and is scheduled to expire May 31. A copy of the forest order will be posted on the Stanislaus National Forest web page as soon as it is available.

Eldorado National Forest Begins Reopening Developed Day Use Recreation Sites

Placerville, CA...The Eldorado National Forest is increasing access to the public by providing additional developed day use recreational opportunities with limited services. Restroom facilities will open as soon as personnel can mobilize and safety and cleaning supplies are obtained. We encourage visitors to check our website and social media pages for the most up-to-date information on what is open so that you can plan your visit. You can also call your local ranger station during normal business hours Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Arnold, CA...We are a full service fly shop with all of the great products you can find at TheTroutSpot.com as well as guided fishing trips, casting and fly tying instruction. We will also be providing short walking excursions to some of our local waters later in the year for those of you who have not had the chance to fish in the Arnold area. Arnold, CA...California State Parks in cooperation with the California Department of Forestry and Fire protection (CAL FIRE) are planning to conduct a prescribed burn Thursday, May 14, 2020, in Calaveras Big Trees State Park. This burn is part of the series of prescription burns planned for the park this year.
