San Andreas - The 2020 Mountain Oaks Academic Decathlon Team are the Calaveras & Tuolumne Regional Champions of the 41st Annual Regional Academic Decathlon Competition. This year’s competition took place on Feb. 1, 2020 at Sonora High School. This year’s curriculum theme was “In Sickness and in Health: An Exploration of Illness and Wellness”. Students compete in ten events: Economics, Essay, Art, Interview, Language and Literature, Math, Music, Social Science, Speech, and Written Super Quiz. This year’s four competing high schools included Bret Harte High School, Mountain Oaks School, Summerville High School, and Tioga High School.

Bear Valley, CA...In the winter we open the Meadow Cafe located 350 yards from the trailhead. Skiers, snowshoers, and pedestrians access the cafe on groomed trails and enjoy “alpine cuisine” on the deck or cozy indoor seating. New for the 2019/2020 winter season, a special Après-Ski menu is served Thursday through Saturday from 3:30-6:30pm.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! A beautiful day is ahead with a high of 47F and with winds on the decrease from the mid teens to low 20’s it certainly looks like and epic day for skiing & riding in on tap! Surface gradients are beginning to relax so winds should decrease over the next few days as high pressure kicks in and brings sunny days through Saturday with a short wave moving into the area Saturday night bringing 1-2″ inches of snow. Breezy conditions return Sunday evening as the gradient again tightens up but clear weather is expected for the coming week.This will be the typical weather pattern over the next few weeks until things shift a bit aloft and bring the upper level jet trajectory to a more Mid state flow. Conditions are fantastic around the resort and it’s a great time to get your riding game on so don’t forget to check out our Lifts and Trails page Daily for projected operations.
