Calaveras Attendance Awareness Contest Gains Momentum |

Angels Camp: The third annual attendance awareness poster contest has continued to grow with more Calaveras County schools’ participation. The poster contest is a collaboration of the Calaveras County Office of Education (CCOE), the Student Attendance Review Board (SARB), Calaveras County District Attorney and the Calaveras County Sheriff to increase public awareness about the importance of school attendance. This year’s SARB poster contest received almost 300 entries from students all over Calaveras County. Poster entries were judged and winners determined by the SARB board members.

Angels Camp, CA....The Angels Camp Business Association hosted the 29th Annual Christmas Parade. Old Town Angela Camp was open & festive. The Open House & Wine Stroll was another great local event.

San Andreas, CA...Meet Savannah, a delightful shorthaired brown “ticked” young adult tabby. Sleek, agile and petite, Savannah has an exotic look similar to an Abyssinian. She was a teen-aged mom but her kittens are now weaned and she’s ready to give up motherhood for a life as someone’s darling. Savannah is affectionate, gentle and enjoys attention but she is not necessarily one to cuddle. She does, however, adore people and other feline-friendly cats. We feel she would do well in a household with another kitty with which to play along with a human family who will provide lots of love and attention.

Collection barrels are located at the San Andreas CHP office, Treats grocery and the VFW in San Andreas, Common Grounds in Valley Springs and the Starbucks in Angels Camp.
