Saturdays in Murphys - Walking Tours of Historic Downtown Murphys are available at no charge (donations gratefully accepted) on Saturday mornings at 10am leaving from the Old Timers Museum. Please contact Jo Sanders at 209-728-3072 to confirm dates and times or make arrangements for large groups. July 26, 2017 – Live Music at Murphys Irish Pub – Travis Brooks from 7-10pm. July 26, 2017 – Milliaire Local’s Night - Join us from 5:30 to 8pm for live music by The Experimentalist and food by La Esperanza Taco Truck. Select bottles of wine will be half price. You don’t have to be a local to hang out, but you will feel like one before you leave! July 26, 2017 – Weekly Photography Program at Big Trees State Park - Each week focuses on a different theme, and for 2017 we are expanding to include different areas of the park. The award is presented by the Irving J. Symons Foundation for Tuolumne County, a supporting organization of the Sonora Area Foundation.

Ian Graham Renner M.D., 79, Died Peacefully on July 19th, 2017 of Complications from Prostate Cancer.

Murphys, CA...Ian was born on June 26th, 1938 in Christchurch, New Zealand. He was the loving son of Frederick Renner and Ruth Dear – Renner. Ian was an internationally renowned gastroenterologist and an accomplished scholar. After completing undergraduate studies in physics and mathematics at Christchurch University in Christchurch, New Zealand, he went on to obtain a medical degree from Otago University in Dunedin, New Zealand. Upon completing a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology, he dedicated both his clinical and research efforts to the development and advancement of complex endoscopic procedures to treat diseases of the liver and pancreas, with a particular interest in the treatment of cancer.
