Arnold, CA...Calaveras Big Trees Association Presents A Day in the Park on Saturday, August 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Bring your family and friends to a fun-filled afternoon of music by the local favorite, Magnolia Rhythm Trio. They will be performing from 12 – 2 at the Campfire Center. Delicious barbecue will be available prepared by Big Boys BBQ’IN. Food will be available in front of Jack Knight Hall from 11 – 3.

Arnold, CA...Don’t count us out. If the bridge on Blagen road is not in place, we will hold this event at Independence Hall Community Center. Ebbetts Pass Moose Lodge Car Show and Chili Cook Off. Car enthusiasts and Chili lovers bring the family to Arnold, CA, on Highway 4 across from White Pines Lake. There will be food and raffles, Chili tasting, and lots more. Admission is free. “Anything on Wheels” can be entered into the Car Show, even your Covered Wagon. Saturday, August 19, 11-3pm. Car Show entry donation is $20, Chili Cook Off entry donation is $10 per team. Those who want to taste Chili can get a tasters wrist band for $5 that includes tasting and a People’s Choice Award ballot. Car Show entries will be allowed day of show space permitting. Murphys, CA...Interested in being part of the Calaveras Grape Stomp history? Call now 209/754-0127 or visit https://calaveraswinealliance.ticketspice.com/grape-stomp-entry-form to register your team and celebrate one of the most anticipated events in the region, drawing large, loud crowds and scores of stomp teams, many festooned in original costume. If coming in costume, you must register in costume but you need not stomp in costume. Costumes are judged on originality, workmanship, etc. Registration entry fee is $70 per team of two. Besides partaking of the usual great food, wine, Raffle Tickets for either a New Zealand or Australia Wine Experince will be sold all day and a silent auction takes place throughout the day, with live auction on stage, Stomp goers witnessed another fierce competition between teams vying for the title of the Calaveras Grape Stomp Champion. Stomp Teams are composed of two persons, one inside a half barrel filled with 25 pounds of grapes, another outside the barrel reaching in to ensure a smooth flow of juice out the drain spot. It's a sticky business for all concerned. (A few photos & video from last year to get you in the mood)
