Avery, CA...On November 6th at 8:30am lions Barbara Matthews, Gerry Sachs, Ronnell Hein, Dennis Duggins, Patty Turcotte, Barbara Guevara and non Lion Victoria Guevara arrived at Avery Middle School to judge the Peace Poster Contest. The theme this year was"Our World, Our Future".

Avery, CA....Don Ogden became the Superintendent/Principal of Vallecito Union School District in November 2013. He brings to the school 16 years of experience in education administration and teaching, and several accolades for outstanding achievement. Mr. Ogden holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from California State University, Stanislaus, and a master’s degree in education from the University of La Verne. He has a proven background in developing learning organizations that support all students to learn and meet the highest performance standards. In his most recent role as the Founding Principal of California Connections Academy @ Ripon, Ogden led the school’s dedicated staff of teachers, administrators and support staff in delivering to students in grades K-12 a virtual school program with an individualized approach to learning...

Columbia, CA...With expanded course offerings available online, at the Sonora main campus, in Calaveras and in Oakdale, Columbia College is making registration easy for incoming students attending in the spring semester to get started early. Extreme Registration, or X-Reg, will be held at the main Sonora campus on Wednesday, December 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

"B" Street Theatre Company Pleases the "Dickens" Out of Michelson Students |

Murphys, CA...Michelson students and staff recently welcomed "B" Street Theatre Company from Sacramento for it's 13 year! Thanks to the AME Parent's Club, the students were treated to an incredible theatrical experience in their own gymnasium. "What The Dickens" was the theme for the show which included several small Charles Dickens snippets by 4 very talented actors, including "Mikey" who has been coming to Murphys with the company since the first year. Some of the older students were quick to greet him like an old friend! What makes this show so unique is that the company writes their own original material with a modern and humorous twist, while still maintaining their education goal of teaching and introducing history and literature into their performances...
