Avery Students Honed Their Skills in a "Celebration of Learning"~By John Hamilton |

Avery, CA...A great group of Avery Middle School Students took part in what was called a "Celebration of Learning" on May 17th. It was a panel discussion & interview session designed to help students with the interpersonal skills they will need to make their points. survive job interviews and handle public discourse with ease....

Angels Camp, CA....On Friday, May 28th, the staff and students of Bret Harte High School held their annual Celebration of Academic and Artistic Achievement in the main quad of the campus; this year’s title, “Bret Harte Beach Party: sun, surf, success.” This activity filled day has been going on now for many years, bringing the students, faculty, and families together for awards, music, competitions, food, sidewalk art and camaraderie. This day was about success; the staff at Bret Harte seemed to embrace the knowledge that success can be measured by many different standards. So today was their day to acknowledge the youth in their school for their accomplishments, tenacity, and desire to learn. The awards were presented to students who showed incentive, drive, passion, and skill....

Angels Camp, CA...Bret Harte High School will be open to parents and community members during the annual Celebration of Academic and Artistic Achievement. The campus will open to visitors beginning at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, May 28th. An assembly honoring academic success will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the main quad area of the school. The event will continue into the afternoon with live music, the annual chalk art festival, and a variety of activities and fun....

19 Bret Harte High School Students competed for cash and scholarships in the school’s first ever Language and Literature Bowl Wednesday night. The event was sponsored by the school’s Renaissance Program and facilitated by members of the English department. Teachers Derek Oliver, Amber Pappe, and Debbie O’Shea served as event hosts. Kaylee Huey, a Senior at Bret Harte and a Renaissance student coordinator organized the event....
