CDCR Announces Automated Email Notification Services For Crime Victims

Sacramento, CA...Yesterday, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s (CDCR) Office of Victim and Survivor Rights and Services (OVSRS) announced they will begin using the new Automated Email Notification Services to better serve and communicate with crime victims starting in December 2016. The new Automated Email Notification Services will allow for a 90-day in advance email notification of release to crime victims whose offender is in CDCR custody. The system will also be able to immediately email victims and notify them of an escape or death of an offender. With the addition of this new service, CDCR will discontinue sending notifications through the Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) service effective December 31, 2016.

London, England...The Compact of States and Regions today reveals, in its annual report, that the vision set out in the Paris Agreement is within reach. Delivering on all disclosed 2020 targets in time would result in savings that put these governments on track to stay below the critical warming threshold of 2˚C above pre-industrial levels. The report provides valuable insights to support national governments heading into the ‘2018 facilitative dialogue’, aimed at raising ambition in the next round of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and shows how many disclosing states and regions are ahead of schedule.

SFO Welcomes Additional Flights To Panama On Copa Airlines

San Francisco, CA...November 30, 2016 - the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) welcomed additional Copa Airlines flights to Panama to meet increased travel demand. In early November, Panama-based airline added a second daily nonstop flight between SFO and Panama City, Panama. Copa, a member of the Star Alliance global airline network, launched nonstop daily service from SFO in September 2015.
