Your simple action of switching off the lights for one hour, combined with millions of others doing the same thing, will deliver a powerful message to the citizens and leaders of the world about the need for action on climate change……

Veterans and Citizens Turn Out to Support Our Troops |

Angels Camp, CA....Veterans and Citizens from throughout Calaveras County showed their support for ur troops today as this is the 5 year Anniversary of the Iraq War. The decorated the corner of Murphys Grade Road and Hwy 49 with flags, banners and signs asking people to "honk in support of our troops." The sounds of horns filled the air for a god portion of the day. When we stopped by we spoke with Suzette Glanville, one of the the supporters, who has a son was in the first wave to enter Baghdad and is currently serving in the Middle East right now....

Angels Camp, CA...Join CAMPS art Greenhorn Creek for a Special Champagne Brunch this Easter Sunday from 9am~2pm. They will also be having an Adult Egg Hunt at Greenhorn Creek Golf Resort from Thursday March 20th through Saturday March 22nd. The Adult Egg Hunt on the Golf Course includes fun prizes. The Easter Bunny will hide Easter eggs on the golf course in places where we occasionally go. He will place them in various hiding places where (Full Brunch Menu Enclosed also)......

Murphys, CA…. Ironstone Vineyards was in full bloom for Daffodil Days 2008, this weekend. The yellow celebration included food, wine, art and thousands of daffodils. Ironstone has 14 acres of approximately 500,000 daffodils in bloom during this time of year, creating a yellow field of blooms along the road into the vineyards and winery….

Murphys, CA….Thousands of people lined the streets of down town Murphys this afternoon for the 17th annual Irish Day celebration. The yearly Irish tradition brought the “Luck of the Irish” weather, wet and cold. For the first half of the morning the sun was peaking through the large puffy clouds with a slight mist in the air, common weather in Ireland. Around one o’clock after the parade had ended; a total change in weather had thousands of people fleeing for cover. The light mist had turned into rain, hail, and then snow. The bad weather however didn’t stop thousands of locals and tourists from all over the United States from coming and celebrating St. Patrick…..

Angels Camp, CA...We had the pleasure of kicking off our Supervisor Candidate Interview series with one of the Supervisors with the longest tenures of any supervisor in the State, Supervisor Tom Tryon. Tryon has been serving Calaveras County since the early 1980s. He started off on the Planning Commission and then was elected by one vote in a squeaker against one of his friends, Tony Tyrell. Our interview covers a wide range of subjects & directions. The Tryon Family has roots that go back generations in Calaveras County. They still run a large working cattle ranch..

Vallecito, CA….The hammered dulcimer played by Scott Williams was the perfect backdrop for the eloquently relaxing evening at Irish Vineyards in Vallecito. Irish Vineyards held their fourth annual St. Patrick ’s Day dinner in their creatively decorated tasting room at 2849 Highway 4. Dinner was prepared and served by Tallahan’s Café in Arnold. Authentic Irish appetizers and entrées were served to many wine club members……
