Sheriff's Office Finds Calaveras Student Had Allegedly Threatened to Stab Another Student.

San Andreas, CA...On 03/6/18 Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Detectives completed their follow-up investigation into the alleged threat at Calaveras High School where a 15-year-old student had mentioned bringing a firearm to campus. The student was arrested at the high school during the initial response to the complaint. During the investigation the investigators learned that the student had previously, on an unknown date, threatened another student.

Transient Arrested in Burson Area

Valley Springs, CA...On Monday 3-5-18 deputies responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Highway 12 in Burson for a report that a male subject had attempted to open the front door of the residence and he was refusing to leave the property. The subject was described as wearing jeans, a red jacket, and carrying a grey tarp or blanket. Sheriff’s deputies had previously responded to this area several times the afternoon prior, Sunday 3-4-18, for reports of a subject matching this description lying on the side of the road. It was determined that this subject did not need medical assistance and he refused deputies attempts to assist with services.

Student Detained at Calaveras High School after He Reportedly Talked of Bringing Gun to School

San Andreas, CA...Today, 3-6-18, Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the Calaveras High School located in San Andreas for a report that a student had mentioned bringing a firearm to campus. It was reported that during a discussion regarding lock down drills and school safety, the 15 year old male student was heard making statements similar to “I guess I better not bring a gun that day”. This same student was overheard talking about guns in another conversation. School staff was made aware of the comments and notified the Sheriff’s Office.
