Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital Hosts "Career Day!" ~By John Hamilton Updated with Video |

Valley Springs, CA...Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital and many other organizations rolled out the red carpet for the young aspiring Eighth Graders looking ahead to their futures. Friday Morning almost 300 kids streamed through the multi-purpose room at Toyon Middle School. There were booths and information on many different types of jobs to accommodate any skill set. Medical Careers, Management, Law Enforcement even Veterinary were represented. It was even exciting outside when a CHP Helicopter Crew landed one of their helicopters on the ball field and were giving batches of the students tours. A CHP cruiser and even the Calaveras County Sheriff Department's Hummer was in attendance and had the kids fired up to go do a search and rescue mission....

San Andreas, CA....Our Board of Supervisors are meeting Tuesday morning at 9am. They have a busy agenda planned, some of the items include a Resolution Item authorizing the execution of a notice of completion and acceptance of the County Airport Improvements Projects with Granite Construction as the obligated contractor as complete; RESOLUTION to summarily vacate public utility and drainage easements in Lot 101, Lake Tulloch Shores Subdivision; Public Works/Surveyor; 5.RESOLUTION transferring the management and fiscal administration of the Prevent Child Abuse Council Calaveras from the Calaveras Works and Human Services Agency to the First 5 Calaveras, effective April 1, 2008, and for the Auditor to adjust the books of record accordingly; Review and possible action to implement recommendations regarding legal access requirements for building permits, including adoption of a resolution of intention to amend Title 17 (Zoning) of the Calaveras County Code; Community Development Agency. San Andreas, CA...Of the many agenda items discussed in the Board of Supervisors meeting this morning, the biggest item was, the New Jail Grant is on its way. Undersheriff Mike Walker told the Board that the AB 900 Jail Funds Grant application is being driven from the consultants office to Sacramento today. The application will now go under technical review...

San Andreas, CA....Our Board of Sups will have a busy agenda again this Tuesday March 17th. The will start off the meeting with a Minute Order authorizing Wilensky to sign a a letter supporting Senate Bill 1139 designating Rail Road Flat Elementary School to be a necessary small school; There will also be some Resolution Items regarding the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office and the USDA for to enter into a 2008 Operating and Financial Plan for Suppression of controlled Substances and a Resolution Item for Law Enforcement Services; There will be a Minute Order authorizing Board Chair to sign an agreement with Mark Twain S. Josephs Hospital for Emergency Preparedness planning for 12/17/07-8/8/08 in the amount of $76,565.00; The full agenda is enclosed for your viewing pleasure....

Angels Camp, CA….A structure fire has been reported at 1104 Bragg Street in Angels Camp. Angels Camp Fire Department was first on scene with three engines; engine 211,212, and 213. Angels Camp, Altaville Melones, Murphys, and San Andreas fire were all departments dispatched. All engines were released except for Angels Camp Fire and one engine from Altaville Melones. “Erik Alldrin and Dennis Brower were the first firefighters on scene with engine 211 and were able to extinguish the fire from the deck,” shared Assistant Chief Terry Bullock.....
