Welcome to the Country~by Local Author, Charity Maness

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 04/12/2010 06:37 PM
So you’ve decided to move to the country where life may be just a might bit slower than you had imagined.....If you have lived here, say goin’ on four or five months now, you have undoubtedly been a recipient of our own unique brand of country type traffic jams. March Madness in Copperopolis!

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/29/2010 02:38 PM
Copperopolis, CA....March Madness was in Copperopolis on a sunny Saturday as Copperopolis Elementary School basketball coach and athletic director, Troy Welch, held a free basketball clinic for boys ages 9 to 13 at Copper's multi-purpose room and playground on March 13th.  Thirty four enthusiastic players not only from Copperopolis, but as far as Vallecitos and Angels Camp, showed up for a skills course that went from 9 am to 3 pm. Troy planned the event to “introduce kids to the sport and develop interest in the younger kids,” and 18 of those players were in 4th and 5th grade. The day included skills in basic ball handling, passing, man to man and zone defense, offense skills, layups and shooting. At the end of the day, there was a mini-tournament and shooting competition. ....

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/26/2010 07:29 AM
San Andreas, CA...The focal point of the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday was the study session on renewing the County's contract with it's existing providers. American Legion Ambulance Service and Ebbetts Pass Fire and Protection District look good to go for another 5 years. This isn't to say there weren't concerns earlier in the process that were heard at previous public meetings. One change in response to concerns is all extended response time calls will be automatically
