Copperopolis, CA...A 28 year old Antelope Man was riding his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Hwy 4 at an extremely high rate of speed when he lost control for unknown reasons, as his motorcycle flipped onto it's side. He was ejected.. |

Copperopolis, CA...The Black Creek Hall in Copperopolis had a good sized crowd on hand to mix and mingle and listen to development plans for Bear Valley. A Welcome Luncheon was held this last Tuesday for CABA members and friends who are interested in growing the business community. The keynote speaker was Rosie Sundell of Bear Valley who discussed Bear Valley expansion and how plans for a year round resort will benefit business in Calaveras County...

The new venture includes Galerie Copper, which will showcase regional works of art and a full inventory of art supplies and classes for all skill levels. First CHP Release on Last Night's Fatal Accident |

Copperopolis, CA...A 2006 Toyota driven by Eugenia Medina with Mario Tinicio as a passenger was traveling at an unknown rate of speed on Hwy 4 westbound, west of O'Byrnes Ferry Road. A 1996 Saturn was traveling at an unknown rate of speed on Hwy 4 eastbound west of O'Byrnes Ferry Road. For an unknown reason at this time, the Toyota and Saturn collided head on. All parties were air lifted to Doctor's Medical Center and Memorial Hospital in Modesto where one of the parties succumbed to her injuries. The name is pending. The First CHP release is in on last night's accident and is enclosed.... |

Copperopolis, CA....Crews are still on scene of a major injury accident that has sent three injured parties to valley hospitals via air. Traffic on Hwy 4 is still being diverted at Reeds Turnpike. Please use caution in the area... (Update as of 11:38pm...CHP is reporting that a coroner has been called to Memorial Hospital where one of the victims has been transported. Update 6:15am...We are waiting confirmation from the CHP office. (Update as of 7:37am...we just spoke with CHP and they have confirmed that one female did lose her life in this accident... |

Copperopolis, CA...We have reason to believe that the driver of the white/Honda may have been passing a vehicle and that's what caused her to be in the w/b lane, causing the accident. If anyone observed anything or if the driver of the other vehicle observed the Honda trying to pass, we would like them to give us a call. They can call 209-754-3541 and speak to Officer Myers or Officer Castillo.
