Copperopolis Fire District Directors will be announced November 3, 2009~by Charity Maness

Copperopolis, CA...The last day to file a declaration of candidacy for the Copperopolis Fire District Board was August 7, 2009. Steve Marks and Steve Nelson, current sitting Directors on the Fire Board, were both up for re-election and the only people to file their declaration of candidacy paperwork. The District can perform the Oath of Office on December 4, 2009. There will be no election.

Copperopolis, CA....Scary, silly, sweet and down right goofy....That describes the creative people of Copperopolis that came out to strut their finest Halloween get ups at the annual Halloween Festivities in Copperopolis Town Square. The festivities began with a costume parade at 4:00 p.m. including participants of all ages. There were little ones only a month old to, well I will say /seasoned/ trick or treaters. The judging had to have been a tough job, because it seemed as if everyone had the greatest costume.....

So you’ve decided to move to the country where country type bingo may just involve the use of various local farm animals....When first moving with my Wyatt and multiple mini Wyatt’s to Tombstone in the foothills, otherwise known as Copper, I quickly discovered the lure of Bingo. You may laugh but in these here parts Bingo seemed to be the only action packed excitement to be had for miles around. I would love to say that the tables were crowded with freshly coifed gray heads, but that would be a fib. These Bingo events were attended by all members of the community, my son in diapers and toting a baby blanket included. He would watch the balls pop up in the ball tumbler staring at amazement as Dick’s melodious voice called out numbers gently lulling him to sleep. .......
