Copperopolis, CA...The evolution of the Copper Towne Square is the place to be for events and community activities, continued today.....It was hoppin' as they hosted their annual Easter Celebration. There were special sales being offered as many people were strolling the shops. A gigantic Easter Egg hunt took place at 1pm where the kids had a chance to dance with the Easter Bunny and hunt for prizes! The kids even got to enjoy a Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest and the color the giant Easter Eggs for more fun prizes...

Altercation Interrupts Calaveras/Bret Harte Soccer Game This Evening ~By John Hamilton

Angels Camp, CA....An unidentified male, who appeared to be under the influence, started an altercation at this evening's girls soccer game held at Bret Harte field. The adult male appeared to be heading for the coaching bench when he was intercepted and controlled by several members of the community. He struggled with them for 5-10 minutes until Angels Camp Police arrived and was later taken into custody.

San Andreas, CA....One subject that jumped out at the famous "Public Comment" portion of the Board of Supervisors meeting this morning was about an issue we heard while out and about yesterday. Tour De France podium finisher and the 2009, 2008 and 2007 Tour of California Winner, and former Copperopolis Road Race Winner, Levi Leipheimer is slated to compete in this weekend's Copperopolis Road Race. This race which is affectionately known in cycling circles as the Paris–Roubaix of California always draws the elite Cyclists from all over California has over 600 registered entrants. Unfortunately the race still has a bit of cobblestone to ride over before the 26th Annual running of the event to can take place. There was a mix-up with the permit application...

Angels Camp, CA...There is a Student Driven Renaissance program quickly spreading through the Bret Harte Campus. It has been spearheaded by Codi Mills and Kaylee Huey. The program celebrates academic achievement in a fun, peer encouraged way. The program is open for any student with a 2.5 and above GPA. When we stopped by on Friday Bret Harte already had that Renaissance Feel with students wearing some great looking Renaissance TShirts.

San Andreas, CA...The Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation recently made the commitment to fund a digital mammography system for the Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital in San Andreas. The digital mammography project, including necessary construction and permitting, is estimated at $840,000.
