Mr. Johnson was on his way home after a long distance motorcycle ride and presumably stopped to rest at the Big Bar Launch recreation area along the Mokelumne River just off of Hwy 49 outside of Mokelumne Hill in Calaveras County. An initial search was initiated on Friday, June 7th, after he was reported missing by his fiancé. His motorcycle was located undisturbed at that location with the key in the ignition and helmet and gloves sitting on the seat of the motorcycle.

Jackson, CA...On June 10, 2019, at approximately 1545 hours, CHP Amador officers responded to a head-on traffic collision on SR-49 south of Sandra Road. The investigation determined that Thomas Diemier, 95 of San Andreas was driving his Lexus RX350 northbound on SR-49 at an undetermined speed. A 38 year old Plymouth man was driving a 2018 GMC Denali southbound on SR-49 at 55 MPH. Diennier crossed over the solid double yellow lines into the southbound lane in order to pass a logging truck, which placed his vehicle directly into the path of Vasko's vehicle. The front of the Lexus collided with the front of the GMC causing disabling damage to both vehicles.

Jackson, CA...The Amador Fly Fishers June 18, 2019: Monthly Meeting, 6:30 PM, 810 Court St, Jackson, CA. Our June speaker will be Jeff Putnam. He has taught fly casting for most of his life. Jeff puts on special seminars and presentations for angling groups, fly fishing clubs, fly shops, fly fishing manufacturers and corporate groups. He also consults individuals and groups on travel planning and tackle selection. Jeff enjoys fishing local waters for any species he can catch on a fly rod and possesses a true angling passion for spey fishing for steelhead, catching rising trout on light rods and searching the saltwater flats. Jeff's usually fishes with his favorite fishing partner, his wife Angela. When Jeff is not fishing he is usually scouting local waters with his four-legged fishing buddy, Dakota, "experimenting" with the latest fly fishing gear or practicing guitar. You will go home from the meeting a better fly caster!
