Off Duty CHP Officer Shoots Wife and Then Himself in Murder - Suicide.

Martell, CA...On Monday September 3, 2018 at around 10:45pm, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the owner of Get Ripped Nutrition, Martell. The caller reported he was inside the business with a women and her husband was banging on the door to get inside. The caller stated the husband was a California Highway Patrol Officer.

Angels Camp, CA...Amador, Argonaut & Summerville have started the 2018 Season in winning style. For many Mother Lode League Teams it has been a tough start to the season. This weekend Bret Harte dropped their game in Truckee 63 - 0. Calaveras lost Friday's away game against Escalon 21-7. Sonora was scoreless against Ripon 34-0. Summerville won Friday's home game against Mariposa County 10-9. Amador won Friday's home game against Livingston 24-0. Argonaut won Friday's home game against Union Mine 45-20.

Construction Delays in Carson Pass High Country

Kirkwood, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be performing one-way traffic control at various locations on eastbound and westbound State Route 88 (SR-88). Work will occur as follows: One-way traffic control will be in effect from Silver Driver in Pioneer to Shake Ridge Road beginning Monday, August 27, 2018, through Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for drainage work. One-way traffic control will be in effect from Peddler Hill Road to Tragedy Springs Road beginning Monday, August 27, 2018, through Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for shoulder work. One-way traffic control will be in effect on eastbound and westbound SR-88 from the Kit Carson Lodge to the Amador/Alpine county line beginning Monday, August 27, 2018, through Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for shoulder work.

Jackson, CA...From the Amador Sheriff's Office..."On Sunday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office received a troubling call from the pastor of a local church. The pastor explained that the mother of a 12-year-old recently learned that her daughter had been molested. The mother also disclosed that the suspect in the molestation is currently employed as an officer with the California Highway Patrol.

Children Learn about Parents’ Jobs at Mule Creek ~ By Lt. Angelo Gonzales, AA/PIO Mule Creek State Prison

Ione, CA...Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP) recently held its fifth annual Junior Corrections Academy. The Junior Academy was designed to give the children of MCSP employees a chance to learn more about the job their parents do every day and to expose them to the field of Corrections Law Enforcement. On July 16, 44 participants, ranging in age from 8 to 15 years old, started a week-long junior academy where they received instruction on a wide range of topics which included: Fire Suppression, Social Media Security, Firearms Familiarization, Basic First Aid, Crime Scene Preservation, Contraband and Drug Interdiction and Crisis Response Team weapons and tactics.

Hay Bales Cause Sacramento Area Couple's Death in Hwy 88 Motorcycle Collision

Kirkwood, CA...On 8-10-2018 at approximately 1105 hours, Jim Hutton a resident of Sacramento and his passenger, Theresa Lish a resident of Auburn were traveling eastbound at approximately 50 miles per hour on their 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle on SR-88 behind 5 other motorcycles in a group. When they were east of Mormon Emigrant Trail, Mr. Hutton was in the last or trail position behind the rest of the group and a pickup truck. Approximately .1 miles east of Mormon Emigrant trail a semi truck with two trailers loaded with large bales of Alfalfa hay, driven by Timothy Roe, a resident of Hanford was traveling westbound rounding a right hand curve in the roadway approaching the group of motorcycles.
