Jackson, CA...Today Golden 1 Credit Union (Golden 1) celebrated a new, relocated branch in Jackson, CA. The event included a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Amador County Chamber of Commerce, remarks from Donna Bland, President and CEO of Golden 1, and refreshments for attendees. Golden 1 has served the Jackson community with a branch located in a grocery store since 2004. The new, larger branch features modern décor and updated technology. The branch will enhance service to the more than 8,500 members located in Amador County.

Jackson, CA - On January 22, 2018, the Amador County Public Health and Environmental Health departments were notified that earlier this month Central Valley Water Quality Control Board personnel determined via sampling and laboratory analysis that water discharged from a storm water drainage system at Mule Creek State Prison (the Prison) was not solely stormwater or irrigation tailwater but that it was gray water, sewage, or a mixture.

Arnold, CA...Pacific storm will bring periods of moderate to heavy snow and gusty wind to the area this Wednesday afternoon into Friday. Heaviest snow and strongest wind expected this evening into early Thursday morning and again late Thursday afternoon and evening. Hazardous winter driving is likely during this period with travel delays and chain controls. Heavy snow. Travel will be very difficult to impossible. Damage to trees and power lines is possible. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet with localized amounts up to 3 feet.

Major Injuries to Ione Woman in Vehicle vs Tree Collision

West Point, CA...A 25 year old Ione woman was driving her Infinity traveling eastbound on Winton Road, just east of Bummerville Road. She made an unsafe turning movement, and allowed the Infinity to travel off of the roadway onto the south shoulder of Winton Road. Her vehicle then collided with a large tree on the south shoulder of Winton Road. She was transported by an air ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment the injuries sustained as a result of this collision.

Arnold, CA...Heavy Snow Possible Over The Mountains through Friday. A cold Pacific storm system is forecast to move through interior NorCal later today through Friday. Snow levels will lower rapidly with this storm, dropping to 3000 to 4000 feet tonight and 2500 to 3500 feet on Friday. In addition, gusty winds during the storm may bring poor visibilities.
