Woman's Club of Jackson Donates $855.00 to Jackson Revitalization Committee

Jackson, CA....On April 12, 2012, The Woman’s Club of Jackson presented Mr. Wayne Garibaldi, Jackson Revitalization Committee, with an $855.00 donation. The monies will be used to assist in the City enhancement efforts that are currently underway. All proceeds were raised from the Club's rummage sale (Time Worn Treasures) held on “Dandelion Days” weekend. The Woman’s Club is a service organization. For 101 years they have fulfilled their commitment to the City of Jackson through Social, Civic, Educational and Philanthropic efforts.

Vail Resorts now operates three world-class mountain resorts in the Lake Tahoe region and together with Heavenly Mountain Resort and Northstar California, provides guests and pass holders unparalleled value with the very best that Lake Tahoe has to offer. The transaction, which included the ski resort and undeveloped sites at the center of the base area, closed for total consideration of approximately $18.0 million. The seller retains a participation interest in the base area parcels and continues to own the remainder of the real estate development sites....

GSC COW (Cell On Wheels) Placed at Cal Fire Academy in Ione

Jamestown, California. Golden State Cellular announces recent placement of a temporary cell site, or cell on wheels (COW), at the CAL FIRE Academy in Ione. As Golden State Cellular is the local area cell service company that provides roaming for Verizon, CAL FIRE made the request as a way to improve Verizon Cellular coverage at the Academy to support a new training program being developed, designed to improve response to hazardous situations. According to CAL FIRE, the new training course, AAIM, is a CAL FIRE led multi-agency, multi-discipline and federally funded program which will assist Incident Management Teams when dealing with wildland fires and all-hazards emergency incidents locally and nationwide. Golden State Cellular and CAL FIRE have worked together in the past on COW placement in support of firefighting operations in remote areas....

Mother Lode Friends of Music's Next Concert April 15. Alexander Fesca's Septet in C Minor

The Mother Lode Friends of Music, the classical music performance organization serving the central region of California’s gold country, presents its next concert of chamber music on Sunday, April 15, starting at 2 p.m. in the Church of the Nazarene, 14050 Ridge Road, in Sutter Creek. The program features in the first half the Septet in C minor for oboe, horn, violin, viola, cello, bass and piano of Alexander Fesca. Fesca (1820-1849), of German nationality with Italian ancestry, was a contemporary of Mendelssohn and Schumann. His septet, with its unusual instrumentation, is an undiscovered jewel of the chamber music repertory. In four movements, the work is characterized by one beautiful melody after the other, giving each of the seven instruments many moments to shine individually and in various combinations...
