Turlock Man Arrested for DUI after Semi Collision on Hwy 88

Pioneer, CA...A 33 year old Turlock man was driving a 2016 Freightliner and trailer westbound on Hwy 88, west of Hams Station. He lost control in a curve while driving at approximatelly 50mph. According to a witness, he drove into the eastbound lane before losing control onto the north shoulder. When the truck went off the roadway the trailer detached from the truck and overturned, spilling its non haxardous load. The truck continued into a dirt embankment causing moderate damage to the front of the truck.

Master Gardeners at this class will discuss various ornamental trees and shrubs that grow throughout Amador County, and the seasons in which they bloom. Information and methods of assessing your growing area, proper plant selection as well as proper planting techniques will be discussed and demonstrated. Handouts will be available. By attending our “Plant Propagation” class where you will learn the best practices for getting your vegetables off to a successful start! This Public Education class is presented by the UCCE Master Gardeners of Amador County on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Basic principles and general techniques of propagation including seed starting, division, and taking cuttings will be discussed, demonstrated and practiced. Bring seeds or cuttings (keep cuttings damp) for a plant you wish to start. Some seeds and cuttings as well as hand-outs will be available. The class is free and open to the public. Local Master Gardeners will present a hands-on clinic covering grafting techniques for home gardeners. Whip, tongue and cleft grafts will be demonstrated and practiced. Bud grafts will also be discussed. Learn how to grow a fruit salad tree. A variety of fruit tree scions will also be available for participants to take home. Handouts will be available.
