Amador County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on State Route 88 just east of Previtali Road in Amador County. Still Snow in the High Country but Temps on the Rise for Weekend

Angels Camp, CA...This morning Chains or Snow Tires are required on Hwy 4 past Cottage Springs and on Hwy 108 past Long Barn and Hwy 4 and Hwy 108 are still closed. On Hwy 88 chains are required from Hams Station on up. Temps will be on the rise as we head into the weekend. The latest for Angels Camp is as follows..Today: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. South southeast wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 40. East wind 5 to 8 mph becoming north. Friday: Sunny, with a high near 73. Northeast wind around 8 mph becoming west...

Jackson, CA...The following is the statement from the Amador County Sheriff's Office on the incident: On Tuesday September 27, 2011 at 2110 hours, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a resident on Carbondale Road reporting that they had heard several gunshots. At approximately 2118 hours, a second caller reported hearing fifteen to twenty gunshots. At 2124 hours one of the callers reported seeing a white full sized extra cab truck and dark color sport utility vehicle leaving the property from where the gunshots originated....
