Calaveras County, CA...."Not executing," answered Gino Alberts when asked what has been the Redskins' weakness in close games. Tuesday night the Calaveras Redskins lost a close one in Amador to the Buffaloes, 62-64. The Redskins have had trouble winning close games, with the exception of their rival Bret Harte, and when playoffs come around that could prove to be their downfall. As of January 31, they are ranked 8th in the Section for Division 4, and if they win the games they are expected to, they should make the playoffs. They can hang with the top teams, but need to work on closing out games to survive in the post-season. Alberts led all scorers with 16 points, and narrowly missed a potential game winning shot at the end of the game.

Angels Camp, CA.....Following an exciting JV game that ended with a 2 point victory for the Bears, the varsity Bullfrogs took an early lead in last night's matchup. The second period saw the Frogs staying just ahead of the Bears thanks in part to some excellent teamwork between Bret Harte's Matt Brechtel and Robbie Bragg. As the night went on Summerville pulled slowly ahead, despite a good dose of fancy footwork from Bret Harte's Jordan Gomez and some mighty good shooting by Alex Milward. The Bullfrogs made a strong last minute bid for victory, but the game went to Summerville, 59-54......

Amador County, CA....We, at the Amador Student Music Fund, thank you for your support this past year and extend our good wishes to you and yours for a happy and healthy New Year filled and complete with the beautiful sounds of music. Without you and your support of our music activities, many of our Amador County children would not have the opportunities they have now… to study music, to learn to play an instrument, and to perform for their peers and the community. We all know the state is in budgetary disarray and the money coming to our schools across California is greatly lacking, and might be even more lacking in the coming years…so are musical opportunities in our state schools lacking. Hence, the reason for the music fund’s existence......
