Chain Installer Orientation and Permits Class on November 12 |

Angels Camp, CA...Individuals interested in becoming chain installers on California State Highways in the Sierra Nevadas can contact the Caltrans Maintenance Office at (209) 736-0187. Permits are available for State Highways 4, 88, 89, 108 and 207 in Calaveras, Alpine, Amador and Tuolumne Counties. All new applicants are required to attend an orientation class, which will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., in the Caltrans Maintenance Office (98 South Main Street) in Angels Camp....

Elémentaire is the creation of two professional cooks dedicated to helping take the mystery out of making delicious meals from scratch. Dr. Elisabeth Siegler will practice full-service orthopaedic surgery in Calaveras County starting in November. She will be joining Dr. Craig Lovett along with the Mark Twain Family Medical Center Team at the Specialty Care Centers in both Angels Camp and Valley Springs.“Mark Twain Medical Center is proud to bring another excellent and highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon to our community,” said Craig Marks, Hospital President. “Dr. Siegler treats injuries and disorders of the skeletal system and associated muscles, joints and ligaments. California Counties Urge National Forest Management Reform |

Sacramento, CA....The Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) and the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) announced their joint support for the enactment of legislation to better manage California’s national forests. “The growing bipartisan recognition that Congress must address proper management of our nation’s forests illustrates the need to enact healthy forest legislation in 2014,” said Kevin Cann, RCRC Chair and Mariposa County Supervisor. “The recent wildfires on U.S. Forest Service lands clearly demonstrate the results if Congress fails to act.”

Mokelumne, CA...A 34 Year old Pioneer man was driving his 2004 Ford F-15- on Hwy 49 at 2:35 am yesterday morning. He allowed the pickup to travel off the west side of the roadway. As he attempted to regain control the Ford came back onto the roadway before it overturned...
