Angels Camp, CA...Last Thursday Blooms & Things hosted the business community for a Calaveras Chamber of Commerce mixer. They also celebrated 30 years in business. Mark McFall wrote a wonderful history piece on the Story of Blooms & Things. Vicki and Ron McFall along with Iva Hughes (Vicki’s mother) bought Blooms & Things Florist from Carol Jones of Arnold after Vicki had been working for Carol for about a year, and set opening date for August 1st 1985. Those who were around in Arnold back then may remember that Blooms & Things was located in a tiny area next to Vicki’s parent’s restaurant called Daffy’s Roost in Cedar Center and it was not at all uncommon for people to pick up lunch and a bunch of Margaret Daisies for the office.

Angels Camp, CA...When a child enrolls in our program our goal is that the child and family feel welcomed and valuable. Our desire is that the whole family will be impacted in a positive way by our preschool. By the time a child leaves our program we desire to have formed a bond with the child and family that will last a lifetime. The goal is that the child will be prepared for what ever the next step in education might be for that particular child, whether it is public or private school, homeschool, or another preschool facility. Upon exiting our preschool program the child will have developed social, emotional, spiritual and educational growth.

Calaveras Community Foundation Begins Distribution Of Disaster Relief Funds |
Posted by: thepinetree on 10/20/2015 09:12 AM
|
Angels Camp, CA...A Disaster Relief Fund, established by the Calaveras Community Foundation as a result of the horrific Butte Fire, is drawing donations from individuals and group in all parts of this country and beyond. “We have been heartened by the response to our appeal,” states CCF treasurer Brent Harrington. “We have exceeded $150 thousand and it is coming not only from Calaveras and its neighboring counties but from as far away as the east coast and the Netherlands.” Several local businesses or organizations have staged fundraisers or committed the profits from already established events. “We are gratified that these civic minded people feel that the best way to channel their money and concerns is through our Foundation. We can assure them that all the dollars raised will go to meeting the needs of those affected by this disaster,” says Harrington.
Donations may be sent to the Foundation at PO Box 1436, Angels Camp, 95222, or by using the PayPal button on its website: www.calaverascommunityfoundation.org. Please indicate “DRF” on your checks or in the PayPal comment box. For further information, call the Foundation Office at 209/736-1845. |
