Part-time, seasonal (April to Sept.) positions are available at Moaning Cavern, California Cavern and Black Chasm Cavern. Available positions include: Walking Tour Guides, Zipline Guides, Cashiers. We also have 1 full-time, seasonal (summer only) Office Clerk/Reservationist position open at our Main Office....
Mushroom Permits on the Stanislaus National Forest

Sonora, California, March 13, 2015 – Free use and chargeable permits for collecting mushrooms will be available at any District Office on the Stanislaus National Forest beginning Monday, March 16th. Free use permits allow mushroom hunters to gather up to five pounds of fungi for personal consumption at no charge. Chargeable permits, which are issued for a fee of $4 per pound, are to be purchased by mushroom collectors planning to gather fungi in large quantities. Up to 75 pounds of mushrooms can be collected per person, within a calendar year, using this permit...

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Taxpayers Association is urging those being billed the questionable fire fee to appeal within 30 days from mailing of the bill. This information was provided by George Runner, Board of Equalization Member. The law that created the Fire Fee also established the appeals process; Time is Critical!

Washington, DC... Improved buyer demand at the beginning of 2015 pushed pending home sales in January to their highest level since August 2013, according to the National Association of Realtors®. All major regions except for the Midwest saw gains in activity in January. The Pending Home Sales Index,* a forward-looking indicator based on contract signings, climbed 1.7 percent to 104.2 in January from an upwardly revised 102.5 in December and is now 8.4 percent above January 2014 (96.1). This marks the fifth consecutive month of year-over-year gains with each month accelerating the previous month's gain...
