Angels Camp, CA...With the Ribbon Cutting it is now official. Golden State Cellular is now open and serving customers in their new larger Angels Camp location. Their new location is right next to Middleton's in The Mark Twain Center. Golden State Cellular's General Manager Dan Rule, Marketing Director Darrell Slocum and many other Golden State Cellular staff were joined by a nice contingent of local business people to welcome them to their new location. This location will provide much easier access and parking. It also provides plenty of room for future expansion...

Angels Camp, CA...We had the pleasure to chat for a few minutes with The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce's Executive Director, Diane Gray. One of the big pushes for the Chamber this year will be Economic Development and bringing additional jobs to the county. The Chamber is meeting with Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Chair, Steve Wilensky next week. A Supervisor's Study Session will be held at a later date on Economic Development. This will enable what everyone can do to enhance the economic vitality of our area....

San Andreas, CA...At the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner held on Friday, February 1, 2008, Mark Twain St. Joseph’s was honored by being awarded 2008 Business of the Year! There were over 140 members of the business community in attendance, including 19 from the hospital leadership, medical staff and Hospital Foundation....

"Did you know…an $18,475 Catholic Healthcare West Community Grant was recently awarded to the Take It To Heart Foundation to implement their "Family Fit" project in all Calaveras and Tuolumne County elementary schools."

Ribbon Cutting Held For the New and Improved Family Medical Center

Angels Camp, CA...The construction and expansion of the Family Medical Center in Angels Camp is complete, so what better way to celebrate than a ribbon cutting ceremony! On February 1st the Calaveras Chamber of Commerce was on hand at the Family Medical Center to cut the ribbon. The Family Medical Center, located in Angels Towne Shopping Center is one of four Family Medical Centers in the Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital system. County Supervisor Tom Tryon and Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce President Jack Boeding were among the persons on hand for the celebration. Food was catered by “Carmen’s”, the hospital’s cafe. Family Medical Center Administrative Director and Chamber Director Linda Weist made the introduction to the project....
