San Andreas, CA...During a Statewide convention of the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) on Thursday, May 9th, CCWD Director Bob Dean hosted a panel of scientists as they presented concepts related to developing and monitoring the watersheds. The panel experts, who were led by Dr. Roger Bales, Director of the Sierra Nevada Research Institute, discussed the requirements and methodology needed to measure and monitor the health and productivity of the watersheds in the Sierra. Concepts for managing a productive yield of forest products balanced with enhancing the yield of water were presented. Dr. Bales’ presentation stressed the need for a solid basis of information and suggested tools and resources to develop a blend of data acquisition systems. Angels Camp, CA....For the second year in a row, Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) has received a generous $5000 donation from Save Mart Supermarket’s charitable organization, Save Mart CARES. These funds benefit the Career and Technical Training (C&TT) Scholarship Fund. Tuolumne, CA...Last night they were celebrating the 12 Year Anniversary of Black Oak Casino Resort. Black Oak Casino has continued to grow over the years to the present 186,000 square feet with additions including the new Hotel. The Hotel and conference facilities have added another dimension to our local economy. Last night they threw a party to celebrate complete with celebrities, food, food and more food, local wines from Calaveras and Tuolumne, live music and much more...

Mears, who is entering his 15th season with the Giants (the 2010 and 2012 World Series Champions), discussed the key elements for providing a great customer service experience. Copperopolis, CA...On April 24th the Armory was filled with table after table with displays and information from various Calaveras Count Government departments and other agencies and businesses. The evening was hosted by District 4 Supervisor Debbie Ponte and from several attendees we spoke with was well recieved. It provided not only a way for residents to get information about county government and other services it also allowed deparment heads and staff to get a feel for what is on the minds of their constituents and where possible improvements might be made...

He will be joining the Mark Twain Family Medical Center Copperopolis with Nurse Practitioner, Marti Eppenberger. “We are excited to welcome Dr. Kadevari to our community,” said Craig Marks, Hospital President. “Dr. Kadevari brings over thirty years of experience and has been practicing throughout Northern California for the past eighteen. San Andreas, CA....Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) announces that they have recruited Dr. Curtis Allen, as the new Medical Operational Director of the MTMC Family Medical Centers (FMCs), where he will practice within the Mark Twain Family FMCs. “Dr. Allen is an experienced Family Medicine Doctor with many years in Clinic Management,” commented Craig Marks, Hospital President. “His strong leadership skills are a perfect fit for what we need in our FMC’s to better serve our greater community. Dr. Allen most recently was the Chief Physician and Surgeon for the California Department of corrections. Prior to that Dr. Allen practiced in the private care setting, and has served as a Medical Director in various Home Health Agencies and Convalescent Hospitals. In 1998 Dr. Allen led the team to implement one of the first Electronic Medical Record Systems, while serving as a Captain in the United States Air Force where he practiced Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.”
