Runner Says New Fire Fee Bills Will Be Delayed

Sacramento, CA...George Runner today announced that the Board of Equalization will delay this year’s fire fee bills in response to a request from Cal Fire. The bills were scheduled to begin mailing April 2. “The delay appears to be related to concerns about accuracy of the billing data,” said Runner. “I’m pleased to see that Cal Fire is admitting there’s a problem.”

San Andreas, CA....Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) is now offering PET/CT scans on campus, for area residents. “We are very excited to provide advanced technology and much needed services for the community,” said Craig Marks, Hospital President. “Patients needing PET/CT scans will no longer have to travel outside of the county to receive this state-of-the-art technology.” “This technology and accessibility right here on campus is so important for our patients;” remarked MTMC Oncologist Dr. Robert D’Acquisto “Our Cancer Center is an all inclusive treatment center including infusion services for patients that are in need of an antibiotic or blood transfusions. We provide diagnosis, care and treatment for adult blood disorders and cancer disorders.”...

Angels Camp, CA..Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) has been the recipient of over $63,000 in the past three years from The Federlein Family Fund at the San Francisco Foundation specifically to benefit area seniors. An additional generous grant of $15,000 received earlier this year has jump started CCF’s 2013 fundraising efforts and will support our ongoing senior initiative....
