Angels Camp, CA...You can still call and make a reservation to join us on Friday, September 21, 2012 for a Chamber of Commerce Quarterly Business Luncheon at Camps Restaurant in Greenhorn Creek, Angels Camp. The guest speaker will be Rico Oller, local business owner and former California State Assemblyman. Rico will provide an update on current conditions and his view on the state government. There will also be a brief presentation from PG&E about the switch to Time & Use Rates. A delicious lunch will be served, the cost is $20 per person. TC Chamber Seeking Best of Tuolumne County Nominations

Sonora, Ca--Once again the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce is seeking the public's nominations for the "Best of Tuolumne County Awards." The Chamber has presented these awards since 1921 at the Community Awards and Installation Dinner, which will be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Elk's Lodge. Nominations can be made in each or all of four categories: Entrepreneur of the Year, Excellence in Government, Citizen of the Year, and Teacher of the Year. Individuals, service and business organizations, and businesses can make nominations. Nominations can be made over the Internet at www.TCchamber.com and click on Best of Tuolumne County Awards Nomination Form under What’s New, or by picking-up nomination papers at the Chamber office, 222 S. Sonora, CA...Sonora Regional Medical Center is expanding rehabilitation services to provide convenience and quality care for Calaveras County residents. Angels Camp Physical Therapy, located at 467 South Main Street, will open on Tuesday, September 18, with appointments available 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Alan Grant, PT, brings nearly 30 years of professional experience to the new rehabilitation clinic. He will provide one-on-one physical therapy sessions, allowing him to assess each patient’s progress and continually adjust their treatment plans to help them meet their goals...

Sonora, CA, - Rotary clubs throughout the Northern San Joaquin Valley and Mother Lode regions began recruiting high school students to participate in a three-week Rotary Short-term Youth Exchange program for summer 2013. Interest is high and spots are filling up. As of today, the following Short-term exchanges remain open. Germany (25); Italy (2); Spain (2); Brazil (4) and England (4). Most applications are due February 28, 2013, with German and Brazil applications due April 15, 2013. The District is also looking for host families to host some of the German students....

Mind Matters Receives $3,500 Grant From Calaveras Community Foundation

Murphys, CA...Mind Matters, the Murphys based non-profit treatment center devoted to addressing the many needs of patients and families affected by Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Learning Disabilities, has received a $3,500 grant from the Calaveras Community Foundation. The money will be used to support the center’s Social Thinking program. The ability to understand and interact with other people, whether at family gatherings, at school, or in the workplace, is taken for granted by most people. However, this is foreign territory for those who are autistic and many who suffer from attention deficit disorder....

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras County's 2012/13 Budget shows that Calveras County continues progress towards sound fiscal footing. The $136 million budget is up 9.5% over the previous budget period.
