Runner: Many Online Sellers Don't Have to Collect Sales Tax |

SACRAMENTO – George Runner today responded to confusion surrounding Cyber Monday sales and California’s new online sales tax law (AB 155) by clarifying that not all retailers must collect tax. “Some reports have suggested that all online sellers must now collect California sales tax,” said Runner. “That’s a gross overstatement that creates needless confusion for both taxpayers and consumers.”

Calavras County CAO Boyce Retiring |

San Andreas, CA...In her statements at the close of Tuesday's Board of Supervisors Meeting Calaveras County CAO Boyce announced that she will be retiring at the end of the year. Jeanne Boyce can be credited for righting a very shaky fiscal ship that was taking on water during the fiscal downturn. Prior to becoming CAO Boyce was head of Health and Human Services at the county and has been an effective, leading county employee since the early 1990's when she join the county's ranks. So for those of you wishing for a new direction for the county January should be interesting with potentialy the largest changes in county leadership we have seen in quite some time...

Hostess Brands is Winding Down Operations After Devastating Union Strike |
