Angels Camp, CA...A sad confirmation over the weekend of what had been rumored for the last few weeks. The KFC location on Main Street has closed. A note on the door invites customers to visit the location in Jackson. It is an end of an era for what had been a fixture in Angels Camp for many years. One positive note is that the old KFC manager is already working hard at the new Round Table. So while one business has closed another has opened and given jobs for at least some of the former employees..

Unemployment Rate Drops to 8.6 Percent According to BLS

Washington, DC...The unemployment rate fell from 9.0 to 8.6 percent in November, and nonfarm payroll employment rose by 120,000. November’s gain in payroll jobs was in line with the average increase over the prior 12 months (+131,000). Over the month, employment continued to trend up in retail trade, professional and business services, health care, and leisure and hospitality...
