Sacramento, CA...Gov. Jerry Brown signed a series of bills raising the smoking age from 18 to 21 for most. Also signed was legislation placing new restrictions on where people can smoke and the sale of electronic cigarettes. Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. signed the following bills...

But how well do you take care of yourself—whether or not you’re a mother? One big piece of self-care involves regular screening tests, which can prevent many health problems—or help you nip them in the bud as early as possible. Life can get hectic, though, so it’s easy to forget or to put it off. Here is a brief overview of the tests the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends for women. San Andreas, CA...The 2016 Relay for Life event on April 25th 9am to April 26th 9am. The event is held this year at Calaveras High School in San Andreas. If you are a Cancer survivor, caregiver, know someone who has been effected by cancer or not and would like to participate- all are welcome!! You can participate in many ways from forming a new team, joining a team, purchasing a Luminaria bag in honor or memory of a loved one, donating to individuals or teams or joining us on the day to purchase raffle tickets, baked goods, or to play carnival games. If you have a raffle prize you'd like to donate, (something made or purchased), or make a monitory donation be assured that 72% of every dollar raised goes directly to fund cancer research and ACS programs!

The experts at Healogics and the Center for Wound Care at Sonora Regional Medical Center are reminding people to take a moment to stand up for their feet. The Center for Wound Care treats chronic foot and leg wounds that are often caused by underlying conditions such as diabetes. It is estimated that 25 percent of the 29.1 million people living with diabetes will develop a diabetic foot ulcer and without treatment the wounds can lead to amputation or death. .. |
