Is Your Dermatologist Wearing Too Many Hats? ~By Wendy Quaccia

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/14/2013 06:57 PM
San Carlos, CA...Experts in the dermatology field have agreed that it is difficult for dermatologists to read biopsy slides. If this is true, then why do some dermatologists still insist on doing so, resulting in patient compromise? It’s frightening for me to think of how trusting I was with my family dermatologist of about 20 years. He always educated me with every visit, appeared to be confident in his ways and patient with my questions. My dermatologist knew me well. About every other year I scheduled an appointment for a skin exam due to my family history of melanoma. Through the years, I probably have had more than 25 moles removed out of pure suspicion. Each time I had this procedure done, my dermatologist would say “I biopsy everything.” His words lead me to believe that he was taking the proper steps to ensure an accurate reading for a true diagnosis by sending it out to a pathology lab...

Mike Butow & Debbie Peterson Are Dancing For Much More Than Just Their Score.

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/08/2013 12:22 PM
San Andreas, CA...We had the pleasure recently to speak with Mike Butow & Debbie Peterson who are competing in tomorrow night's Dancing With The Sierra Stars. The brother sister duo is competing in honor of their father who passed away earlier this year after a long battle with cancer. Training for the show has also been an opportunity for Debbie to participate in a pilot of the Optifast program that is now available from Mark Twain Medical Center. She has lost over 45lbs in the last few months and looks and feels fantastic. So when you watch the competition tomorrow night remember that not only is the competition a great fundraiser it is also a vehicle where the contestants can take their lives to new levels as well...
