Angels Camp, CA...Dear Friends, As many of you may know, Mic Harper, band director, was instrumental (no pun intended!) in starting Rosendo's musical "career" way back in the 4th grade - little "recorders", flutes - at Michelson Elementary School. She then invited him to play on some drums at a small school performance, and that was the real beginning. Rosendo had a natural musical talent - the Rojas bloodline, not mine! - and Mic helped to nurture and encourage that. When he was in sixth grade up at Avery Middle School, she asked him to start participating in what was then the Calaveras County Community Band, and he attended Monday evening rehearsals and performances as often as he could. He joined the Avery Band, which was a class taught by Mic, and went on to attend music and band classes at Bret Harte High School under the direction of Dave Allured for four years...

Dr. Elisabeth Siegler will practice full-service orthopaedic surgery in Calaveras County starting in November. She will be joining Dr. Craig Lovett along with the Mark Twain Family Medical Center Team at the Specialty Care Centers in both Angels Camp and Valley Springs.“Mark Twain Medical Center is proud to bring another excellent and highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon to our community,” said Craig Marks, Hospital President. “Dr. Siegler treats injuries and disorders of the skeletal system and associated muscles, joints and ligaments. San Andreas, CA....Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) has expanded its Specialty Care Center for Gastroenterology by bringing Dr. Charles Cox to practice in Calaveras County. His main office is located on the MTMC main campus in San Andreas. “We are very proud to be working with Dr. Charles Cox,” said Craig Marks, Hospital President. “He is a highly skilled board certified gastroenterologist and well known and respected in the Tri-County area. Teddy Bear Clinic Packs Hospital and Grounds with Smiling Young Faces Learning About Healthcare |

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center held their 7th Annual Teddy Bear Clinic last week. Close to 500 kindergartners, their teachers and parent chaperones toured the hospital in order to learn about the hospital and improve their comfort level with hospitals and all emergency responders. With the help of the California Highway Patrol San Andreas, Calaveras Sheriff’s Office, Angels Camp Police Department, Reach Air Ambulance, CAL Fire, PHI Air Medical, American Legion Ambulance and the San Andreas Fire Department, the students also had the opportunity to tour helicopters, ambulances, law enforcement emergency vehicles and fire engines, all of which are key factors for health care in our community. After touring the hospital the students had lunch with physicians and staff....
