San Andreas, CA...A wall to wall group of well wishers, medical & business members were on hand last afternoon and eve to welcome the Mark Twain Medical Center's new Cancer Center. It's opening with highly regarded Medical Oncologist, Dr. Robert D’Acquisto, has joined the medical staff at the hospital and will work at the new Cancer Center. It is a beautiful new facility with that is creating a comforting close to home venue to receive state of the art treatment. This facility is part of MTMC's roll out of services that patients can take advantage of without having to leave the area when needing advanced treatments. The Cancer Center has a staff of 7 which is providing a nice boost to the area job numbers as well. Diane Cornish did the honors with the Chamber's Giant scissors cutting the ribbon to make it official. Larry and Diane Cornish were also honored with a beautiful wall fountain in the facility honoring their daughter Catherine Cornish who recently lost a multi-year fight with melanoma. Larry was also praised for his work in spearheading this project moving it to completion....

San Andreas, CA....Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) is now offering PET/CT scans on campus, for area residents. “We are very excited to provide advanced technology and much needed services for the community,” said Craig Marks, Hospital President. “Patients needing PET/CT scans will no longer have to travel outside of the county to receive this state-of-the-art technology.” “This technology and accessibility right here on campus is so important for our patients;” remarked MTMC Oncologist Dr. Robert D’Acquisto “Our Cancer Center is an all inclusive treatment center including infusion services for patients that are in need of an antibiotic or blood transfusions. We provide diagnosis, care and treatment for adult blood disorders and cancer disorders.”...
Federlein Family Fund Donates to Calaveras Community Foundation

Angels Camp, CA..Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) has been the recipient of over $63,000 in the past three years from The Federlein Family Fund at the San Francisco Foundation specifically to benefit area seniors. An additional generous grant of $15,000 received earlier this year has jump started CCF’s 2013 fundraising efforts and will support our ongoing senior initiative....
