Murphys, CA....John Adams, Ph.D. will be hosting a pair of high quality six hour seminars that I will be conducting at Ironstone in October."I've been working with each of the seminar topics for over 30 years, and am now making them available for the first time in the foothills." Health, Stress and Your Lifestyle will be held on Saturday, October 2nd from 9:00 - 4:00pm. Stress is a normal part of life. It is necessary, in small amounts, for good health and effective functioning. It only becomes a problem -- both to health and to productivity -- when there is too much of it (or too little). San Andreas, CA....The California Department of Public Health has announced the first confirmed human cases of West Nile virus in two women from Stanislaus County. West Nile virus is present in all California counties. The Calaveras County Public Health Department recommends that all persons take preventive steps to avoid mosquito bites and prevent mosquito breeding...

Whooping Cough [Pertussis] Case in Calaveras |

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Public Health Department has reported a case of pertussis (whooping cough) in a 66 year old resident of Angels Camp. On June 18 the California Department of Public Health declared that a pertussis epidemic is in progress, however this is the first case of pertussis reported in the County for 2010. As of June 15, there have been 910 reported cases in California and five deaths. All of the deaths have been in infants under 3 months old. An additional 600 cases statewide are under investigation. This is four times the number of pertussis cases reported in 2009. Increases in pertussis cases are highest in the Central Valley and Bay area...
