Angels Camp, CA...The Softball Tournament will be held on Saturday September 14th starting at 9am. All proceeds will benefit Mighty Mateo, and the Cancer Strong general fund, providing financial support to Calaveras County residents battling cancer.

Murphys, CA...Hands on Global (HOG) a medical non-profit has gone to Ukraine several times since March 2022. As a HOG volunteer, along with my sister, Tama, who served as a nurse in Vietnam, I went to Ukraine on a couple of trips to deliver donated external fixators that reduce amputations and other equipment for orthopedic trauma surgeons. As part of our future trips, we are raising funds for Combat Application Tourniquets (CATs). Tama said these CATs save life and limbs, which would have helped in Vietnam.

Los Angeles, CA, August 15, 2024 -- California has the largest population of people experiencing homelessness in the country with well over 171K people living on the streets. To address this crisis, Dignity Health, a member of CommonSpirit Health, has a Homeless Health Initiative which has announced nearly $900,000 in awards to four community-based organizations (CBOs) across California. This funding is designed to support CBOs and align with the California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) program. The funding will boost the capacity and infrastructure of homeless service agencies, enabling them to better collaborate with managed Medi-Cal providers, and other organizations within their communities.

Boar's Head Provisions Co. Recalls Ready-To-Eat Liverwurst And Other Deli Meat Products Due to Possible Listeria Contamination |

Washington, DC...Boar's Head Provisions Co., Inc., a Jarratt, Va., establishment, is recalling all liverwurst product produced by the establishment that is currently available in commerce because it may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The company is also recalling additional deli meat products that were produced on the same line and on the same day as the liverwurst and, therefore, may be adulterated with L. monocytogenes. The company is recalling approximately 207,528 pounds of products.
