U.S. Forest Service and YSS Partnerships Ramp Up Landscape Restoration

Tuolumne County, CA... Tuolumne County, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and Yosemite Stanislaus Solutions Collaborative (YSS), will ramp up efforts to increase the pace and scale of landscape restoration on the Stanislaus National Forest, thanks to an infusion of federal funding. In September Tuolumne County received $ 8.67 million from the U.S. Forest Service, adding to the $11.2 million it already acquired from grants and direct funding to support fuels reduction and other restoration work on the Stanislaus National Forest.

Tonopah, NV...If you like us felt the rocking and rolling just after 4am this morning here are the details from the USGS..."A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck near Tonopah, Nevada, near the California-Nevada border and about 120 miles southeast of Carson City, early this morning on May 15, 2020, at 4:03 am local time (11:03:27 UTC). Seismic instruments indicate the earthquake originated at a depth of 1.7 miles (2.8 km). The quake occurred as the result of strike slip faulting in the shallow crust of the North America plate.

SFO Shatters Annual Traffic Record With 53.1 Million Passengers In 2016

San Francisco, CA...The the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) today announced a new all-time record for traffic, serving 53,106,505 passengers in 2016. This achievement eclipses the milestone of 50 million passengers set in 2015, and represents the seventh straight year of passenger traffic growth at SFO. Overall traffic grew by 6.1% year-over-year, which included double-digit growth in international passenger traffic.
