Angels Camp, CA...(Frogtown, USA)...There is nothing quite like a county fair, especially when talking about the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. The Calaveras County Fair combines unique local events with idyllic country charm. The theme for this year’s fair, “Country Nights and Carnival Lights”, embodies the spirit of these ideals.
The photos above are from the Fair & Frog Jump Kickoff Dinner held last Thursday. In Calaveras County it is a rite of passage that if you want to be a pageant contestant...you have to kiss a few frogs. Click above for lots more photos in a larger format in our photo albums

Sonora, CA...A bit of snow on Saturday put a dent in the crowds but as the sun rolled around on Sunday the Mother Lode Fairgrounds was filled with vendors and potential customers. All of the exhibit halls and the grounds were filled with local businesses promoting services available here locally. One of the great things that events like this always remind us of is that when you do business here locally you are dealing most of the time with local folks who have invested everything they have into making this area better and building their business dreams. Middleton's, Calaveras & Sonora Lumber, Pinnell's Carpet One, Sonora Ford & Sonora Subaru, High Country Spa & Stove & many, many more. Locally owned businesses all ready to serve. We took a few photos and a bit of video as we made our rounds yesterday...
