Managing Your Photos is June 11 SMUG Meeting Focus

Arnold, CA...Apple users who would like to get the most out of their photo collection are invited to attend the Tuesday, June 11 meeting of the Sierra Macintosh Users Group (SMUG) that will begin at 7 p.m. in the assembly room of the Ebbetts Pass Fire District, 1037 Blagen Rd., Arnold, just off Highway 4. SMUG President Dick Cross, who has a much cherished photo obsession, will be making the presentation. He will demonstrate how to organize your pictures on a variety of Apple products using iCloud, how to manipulate them internally, and ways to take advantage of other available editing tools. As is always the case at SMUG meetings, questions about any Apple product or application will be welcomed and encouraged. “There is no such thing as a dumb question,” states Cross. “We are all in the process of learning and members are encouraged to ask.”

FCC Chairman Proposes Eliminating Rule that Drives Up Phone Rates for Rural Americans

Washington, DC...2019—Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai announced that the Commission will vote at its April meeting on eliminating a policy known as the “rate floor,” which is forcing many rural customers to pay higher telephone rates. Under Chairman Pai’s leadership, the Commission froze the rate floor in 2017. Now, the Chairman is asking his colleagues to eliminate it once and for all.

Cape Canaveral, FL...For the first time in history, a commercially-built and operated American crew spacecraft and rocket, which launched from American soil, is on its way to the International Space Station. The SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft lifted off at 2:49 a.m. EST Saturday on the company’s Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
