Fishing on the Highway 4 corridor is still tough due to the snow pack in our Sierra. We are still getting plenty of fish planted. White Pines, Beaver Creek (if accessible), and Angels Creek are due to be planted again this week. Should be an awesome fishing week for our area.....

Dorrington, CA....WEATHER: We just got hit with a blizzard. While the glorious sunshine was here melting off the snow pack this past couple of weeks, today is a different story. Freezing cold rain, wind and yes a bit of snow too. BURN INFO: : Permits required. Open burn hours right now. Call for burn days (209) 754-6600 and be sure to get your burn permit. ROAD CONDITIONS: Cal Trans managed to get the Highway cleaned off and the double yellow line painted back on....

Arnold, CA....The Rusty Knife in Arnold will be holding their annual Farmers’ Market beginning this Wednesday, May 11th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Market will run through the end of October. Come one come all! This is a “Not for Profit” Market. Market vendors will not be charged a fee. If you’re a certified grower, feel free to contact The Rusty Knife about joining the market. San Andreas, CA...The Great Redistricting Debate of 2011 starts with a redistricting study session tomorrow afternoon at 1:30pm in the Board Chambers. This will have big impacts on upcoming Supervisor Elections. If District 3 has lost population should it be enlarged to include Murphys? Should District 4 be adjusted to include Copperopolis? This would make this district easier to represent as then it would align with the school districts and be cleaner geographically. Should Supervisor Tofanelli's District be adjusted?

Calm wind becoming west southwest between 7 and 10 mph. Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. West southwest wind between 8 and 11 mph becoming calm...

Calaveras Big Trees State Park, CA.....Clarice Baumgartner, a junior at the University of Wisconsin at Eau Clare, has been selected as the 2011 summer intern for the state park by the Calaveras Big Trees Association. Baumgartner is majoring in Education and History which will be useful in her interpretive and educational work within the park. Among other duties, she will be dealing with children's programs. She enjoys explaining things and working with all ages.....
