Longtime Mountain Ranch Resident, Glenn Elton Foust, Has Passed Away

Mountain Ranch, CA....Glenn Elton Foust, age 80, passed away at Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital of Natural Causes on April 1st, 2009. He was 29 year resident of Mountain Ranch, CA and a retired carpenter. A native of Ceres, CA., Mr. Foust attended grammar school in Groveland and graduated from High School in Lafayette, CA. He served in the US Navy and after the Navy he moved to Mountain Ranch in 1980 and has lived here since then. He was a member of the Mountain Ranch Muzzle Loaders Club and the Laborers Union Local #1130....

James Edward Paz, Longtime Valley Springs Resident, Has Passed Away

James Edward Paz, Age 42, passed away on April 4, 2009 at San Joaquin General Hospital. James was an Oiler in French Camp. He was a resident of Lockford for 35 years. A native of San Rafael, CA. James grew up in Lodi. He moved to San Andreas in 2000 and settled in Valley Springs in 2007 and had lived in Lockford for a few months. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Paz of Valley Springs; Parents, Al and Jean Paz of Livermore; Children, Megan Paz of Macon, ID, Samantha Paz of Granada, MS, James Paz, Jr. of Manteca; Step Children, Savannah Duncan of Valley Springs, Amanda Pratt of Valley Springs, Summer Pratt of Valley Springs, Amber Pratt of Valley Springs; A Brother Dennis Paz of Stockton. He was preceded in death by his Sister, Nina McInnes; He had one Grandson, David Paz of Macon, ID.....

Marcelle Avery passed away on Sunday April 5, 2009 at the age of 97 years old. She was born on February 18, 1912 to Morton and Louise Avery. She was raised at the Avery Hotel, which her parents operated during her childhood. She attended Avery Elementary School. Marcelle had an active childhood and was especially fond of horses, as she owned her first horse at the age of eight. San Andreas, CA....Lifelong Calaveras County Resident, Marilyn Ann Giannini passed away of Natural Causes on April 3, 2009, at her residence in San Andreas. She was 78. She was a great wife, grandmother and friend to all, who looked back fondly to all those years she and her husband spent bowling in Angels Camp with dear friends. She is survived by her husband, Ernie Giannini and a daughter, Sharon Tesch of Double Springs, CA; Brother, Robert Haupt of Tracy, CA, 8 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services Planned for the Pullen Family on Friday April 3rd

Funeral Services are planned for the Pullen Family of Galt, who lost their lives in a tragic plane crash in Montana on March 22nd, 2009. The services will be held on Friday April 3rd at 11am at the Fairmont Seventh Day Adventist Church located 730 S. Fairmont Ave in Lodi, CA. There were 14 people that perished in this very tragic accident. Four of them were the Pullen Family, which includes Dr. Michael Pullen, 39, who was a Dentist in Valley Springs; his wife Dr.Vanessa Pullen, 37; daiughter Sydney Pullen, 9; and son Christopher, age 7. Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to all of the friends and families of the Pullen family and to all of those who were involved in this horrible accident.

Retired Publisher of Valley Springs Daily News, Frank Eckblom, Has Passed Away

San Andreas, CA....Longtime San Andreas resident, Frank Ralph Eckblom, age 81, passed away on 3/27/09 at his residence of Natural Causes. Frank was a retired Publisher of Valley Springs Daily News. He lived in San Andreas for 33 years. A native of Stanton Island, NY, he passed away following a brave battle with cancer. He served in the US Navy during WWII starting at the age of 17 and served as a Bozeman's Mate. He also served in the Korean War as a journalist. He graduated from the University of Miami, in Coral Gables, FL with a major in journalism and a minor in education. He was a news reporter several daily newspapers, including the Miami Herald and taught Journalism and English at Gonzales High School in Gonzales, CA.....

Rail Road Flat, CA....James Thomas Jackson, age 49, passed away at his residence on March 22, 2009, of Natural Causes. James was a 15 year resident of Rail Road Flat. He was a native of Auburn, CA. who loved fishing, his two dogs Snoopy and Rowdy and the loving husband of 23 years to Irene Jackson. "I will miss him greatly." James is also survived by his mother, Lois Levitte of Oregon; sons, Michael and Drew and best friend, Glen Brown of Forrest Hill, CA; Sisters, Kathy and Laura Neckles of Oregon. Private services are planned.

West Point Woman Loses Life in Tragic Accident

West Point, CA....Emergency crews responded to a vehicle collision on 3/27/09 at Hwy 26 and Main Street in West Point at approximately 5pm. One woman was life-flighted out with what was initially reported as major injuries and she subsequently passed away at Doctor's Medical Center of Modesto. Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families and friends involved....

William "Bill" Theadore Paulos Has Passed Away

San Andreas, CA....Longtime San Andreas resident, William "Bill" Theodore Paulos, passed away on March 21st, 2009 of Natural Causes at Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital. He was 85. He was a resident of San Andreas for 60 years. A native of Jordan, MT, he grew up, lived and worked on ranches. Bill moved to California in 1949 where a job as head custodian for Calaveras School District waited for him. "Old Timers" may remember him for training horses, a real passion for him. He retired after 47 years in 1996. He liked to fish, camp and most of all spent most of his time riding horses and helping friends with cattle on summer range in the Highland Lakes area.....
