Robert “Bob” White, Veteran, Musician & More Passed Away on April 16

Murphys, CA...Robert “Bob” White of Murphys, CA, passed away peacefully at home on April 16, 2018, after a short illness. He was a retired furniture salesman, having been employed by Breuner’s in San Carlos, CA for 21 years. Born in Seattle, WA, he was the son of Elizabeth McRae of Edinburgh, Scotland, and Michael White of London, England, who had met and married in Seattle. Bob was a talented musician, playing saxophone and clarinet with dance bands at the Trianon and other nightspots in Seattle in his youth. He joined the US Coast Guard towards the end of World War II and was stationed in San Francisco with the Coast Guard Band, greeting troop ships as they returned to the Bay.

Trenton, FL...The Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Bobby Schultz are mourning the loss of two of their family members, Sergeant Noel Ramirez and Deputy Sheriff Taylor Lindsey, shot to death inside the Ace China restaurant in Trenton around 3:00pm this afternoon.

Angels Camp, CA...Angels Camp resident Roberta Seeman passed away on April 11th in Stockton, CA. Roberta was born on March 15, 1937 in Angels Camp to the late Albert and Celia Beltramo. Roberta grew up and lived in the Purdyville residence that was home to three generations of Vico and Beltramos. Roberta graduated from Bret Harte High School in 1955, and had a 35 year career at Calaveras Cement where through a mutual friend she was introduced to her husband of 45 years Clyde Seeman.

Jason Paul Berry 1954 - 2018

Paloma, CA...Longtime Calaveras Resident Jason Paul Berry died Saturday, April 14, 2018. He was 63. Born in Los Angeles, California, on 8 August 1954. During his parents quest for California from Vermont, his first home was a motel room where his Mom and Dad used a dresser drawer and swaddling clothes for his short time there in Los Angeles. His Mom and Dad traveled with Baby Jason to the Bay Area and setlled in Palo Alto for a short time. Next they moved to Milpitas and eventualy settled in Fremont. While in the Bay area, Jason's Parents started a family business " Metal Craft" where Jason grew up and later worked in the very successful family business.

Bush, the 41st President of the United States, and served as the First Lady of the United States from 1989 to 1993. She is the mother of George W. Bush, the 43rd President, and Jeb Bush, the 43rd Governor of Florida. She served as the Second Lady of the United States from 1981 to 1989.

Richard Roger Thayer II, Marie Ann Leonetti Killed in Probable Murder Suicide by Jacob Jedidiah Thayer

Pine Grove, CA...On Thursday April 12, 2018 at approximately 0305 hours the Amador County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a female subject reporting that her son had killed himself at her residence on Hilltop Street in Pine Grove. Sheriff’s Deputies responded and were on scene within two minutes. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the 60 year old female along with her 4 year old granddaughter who were waiting outside. Upon entry into the residence, deputies located 26 year-old Jacob Jedidiah Thayer; 27 year-old Marie Ann Leonetti; and 60 year-old Richard Roger Thayer II. All three were deceased and all had suffered gunshot wounds.

Mark Charles Jacobson 1952 - 2018, Veteran, Teacher & Man of Faith

San Andreas, CA...Mark Charles Jacobson was born on August 12, 1952 in Janesville, Wisconsin to Gordon Charles Jacobson and Norma Ellis Jacobson. Mark passed away at the age of sixty-five on March 30th, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Mark grew up with his mother and father in Janesville, Wisconsin. After earning his high school degree in 1970, Mark left his hometown to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mark graduated in 1974 with a degree in Management. Upon graduation his first assignment was in Sacramento, CA where he met his wife Linda. Throughout his career he was stationed in a wide variety of locations including Georgia, Washington D.C., Southern California, and England. In 1979 while in the military, Mark completed a Master's Degree in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology. After twenty-two years of service, Mark retired in 1996 as a Lieutenant Colonel and moved to his wife's hometown San Andreas, California.

Retired, CHP Lieutenant Commander Georgia Hiehle Has Passed Away

Jackson, CA...From the Amador Area CHP Office and Lieutenant Hiehle was a longtime resident of Calaveras County..."The Amador Area is saddened to report the passing of retired, Lieutenant Commander Georgia Hiehle, ID 10578. Lieutenant Hiehle was a valued and distinguished member of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for 33 years. Lieutenant Hiehle entered the CHP Academy in January 1, 1983. During her tenure with the Department, she served in Bakersfield, King City, South Los Angeles, San Andreas, San Francisco, and Amador Areas. She spent 12 years as a sergeant in San Andreas and retired as the Lieutenant Commander of the Amador Area on December 30, 2015.

Investigation Underway for Death of Jack Edward Watts, 43 of Manteca Identified as Motorcycle Rider Shot on Highway 26 West of Mokelumne Hill

Mokelumne Hill, CA..On Sunday 4/8/18 at approx. 1737 hours the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call of a motorcycle down near Highway 26 west of Mokelumne Hill. CHP units responded and fire/medics also arrived on scene. CHP contacted the Sherriff’s Office and advised that the injured male motorcycle rider appeared to be the victim of a gunshot wound. Sheriff’s Patrol Units and Sheriff’s Detectives responded to the scene to conduct a criminal investigation. Highway 26 between Mokelumne Hill and Paloma Road remained closed throughout the night and most of today as Sheriff’s Investigators worked at the scene.

U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Pilot Killed When F-16 Crashes During Training

Nellis Air Force Base, NV...A U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds pilot was killed when his F-16 Fighting Falcon crashed over the Nevada Test and Training Range April 4, 2018, at approximately 10:30 a.m. during a routine aerial demonstration training flight. The identity of the pilot is being withheld for 24-hours pending next of kin notification. An investigation is being conducted into the cause of the mishap.
