Henry J. Sweeney September 24, 1932  –  March 11, 2015

Angels Camp & Rail Road Flat, CA...Henry J. Sweeney, 82, died March 11, 2015 at his home in Angels Camp. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, his wife Margaret, and his daughter Patricia Lynn Sweeney. Henry is survived by his wife Dodie Sweeney, son Michael Henry Sweeney, son-in-law Michael Lee Sweeney, and grandchildren Kelli and Tyler. Henry was born on September 24, 1932 in Brawley, Ca. From his early years Henry always enjoyed helping others. He found his true passion in pursuing the Lord's work and followed that passion In 1954 when Henry attended Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland, Oregon to work towards becoming a pastor and missionary for the Lord. Henry was a home missionary for the American Sunday School Union then a youth pastor in New Mexico. Henry was able to use the wonderful gifts he had been given through his work in the church and on the mission field to pursue his love of helping others through the Lord's work. Henry went on to pastor churches in Indian Hills, Co, San Luis Obispo, Ca, Victorville, Ca, and Rail Road Flat, Ca. Henry was always faithful to minister and stayed true to his faith in the Lord until the day of his death. He was a sweet, loving man who dedicated his life to God, his family, and friends...

Valley Springs, CA...Harold Murphy May 15, 1934 - March 1, 2015 went to his final rest in Valley Springs surrounded by his loving family after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Harold especially loved watching football and baseball games, he also enjoyed golfing with the La Contenta Seniors, RVing with the Calaveras Caravaner's or just hanging out with his family & friends. Harold will be missed by everyone he touched as he was always there to lend a helping hand, give advice or lend that special piece of equipment or tool....

Murphys, CA....Vern Winsby peacefully passed away on March 1, 2015 in San Andreas, CA. Born in Ukiah CA. on Dec. 28 1927. He moved at an early age moved to Pittsburg, Ca. where he grew up and attended school. After graduating from High School Vern served in the Army, and worked with his father. In 1952 he met his wife Gloria and was married. He was a successful businessman opening Winsby's Paint and Hardhardware in 1952 until 1970. He was also on the Pittsburg, CA Planning Commission, City Council and Served also as the Mayor of Pittsburg, CA. He was a Past President of the Junior chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club and Director of the Chamber of Commerce all in Pittsburg, CA...

Angels Camp, CA...Alfred Ashley Dias. On March 8, 2015, Judge Judy lost a loyal fan today. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Al was born June 15, 1933 in Merced, CA. He was drafted into the army in 1953. He served in Germany where he met Hannelore Schmidt. They were married on December 31, 1956 and settled in Angels Camp. He worked at the Calaveras Cement Plant in San Andreas. Al retired when the plant closed. He enjoyed spending time with his family, having coffee with his long time friends, checking the mail and watching Judge Judy...

Angels Camp, CA...Amy Ellen Schmid, age 75, born July 5, 1939 in Laird Hill, TX, passed away March 7, 2015 in Sonora, CA. Amy was a retired dispatcher for the Calaveras County Sheriffs Office, and a member of the Italian Catholic Federation. Amy is survived by her husband Ron of Altaville; son Kenneth Sterrett, daughter Deborah Richardson, and step-son Robert Schmid; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; brother Benjamin (Lori) Quick of Citrus Heights, and sister Sandra Sue Collins of Dayton, NV. San Andreas, CA....At 3:27am this morning CHP received a call of an overturned sedan in the roadway near Hwy 49 and Gold Strike. One party was reported as trapped in the vehicle. Injuries proved fatal. More information will be provided as it is provided by CHP. Let's be careful out there...none of us know when this moment may be our last...
