Donna Lee McReynolds September 9, 1938 – November 4, 2013 |

Angels Camp, CA....Donna was born in Oroville, Ca. In 1942, Donna’s family moved to White Pines, CA. Donna attended school in White Pines and was taught by the legendary Hazel Fischer. Donna attended Bret Harte High School where she graduated. Shortly after, she met the love of her life, Robert Charles McReynolds. Three days later they were married. Bob and Donna bought a home in Angels Camp and raised two children. Donna also worked for Mark Twain Hospital for 20 years. Donna’s passion was working in the yard, and she was an avid sports fan. She loved the Giants, Forty Niners, and the Fighting Irish! Donna also loved to travel and went on many excursions with Bob and their best friend Denise....

Nurse Betty Fitzgerald Passed Away on November 7, 2013 |

Angels Camp, CA....Betty Wohlert Fitzgerald was born and raised in Iselin, New Jersey. Her parents were immigrants from England and Germany. She graduated from nursing school in Plainsfield, New Jersey and began her nursing career in New Jersey and New York. She married Donald Fitzgerald in 1957. Wary of the increasing New Jersey congestion, she moved to Angels Camp in 1964 with her husband and three young children; Grace, Clare, and Chuck. The fourth child, Julie, was born in California. For many years, Betty worked as a Registered Nurse for Dr. Smith and Dr. Styskel in Murphys. She served as the resident nurse to the Amador Ave. neighborhood throughout her years living there. She and Donald were very active in their childrens’ extra curricular activities during their formidable years, never missing a softball game, cheerleading event, spelling bee, wrestling tournament, track meet, basketball game, or football game. She dedicated much of her spare time volunteering for community organizations, especially American Field Service. Betty was the AFS Chapter President for many years. She was a “mom” to many foreign students, maintaining relationships with some of the students over the years...

Jenny Lind, CA....Donald Leonard Zyski was born on November 12, 1928 in Los Angeles and passed away on November 6 in San Andreas. Donald was a Greyhound Driver Instructor for 23 Yrs, and worked as an CPR Aid Instructor and EMT Assistant for Amador, San Andreas, & Valley Springs Ambulance. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge earning his 50 Year Pin & Past Master. He served from 1945-1955 as a Navy UDT-Frogman Teams 1 & 12.

Mokelumne Hill, CA...Richard Charles Ferraris passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the age of 82 from a rare bone marrow disease. He was born in San Francisco, CA on August 17, 1931 to Charles and Constance Ferraris. Richard's grandparents were residence of Albany Flat, near Angels Camp in Calaveras County, where his father Charles was born. Richard was raised in San Francisco, CA, attended school there and lived there for a brief time after serving in the U.S. Army special forces unit for 35 yrs. Richard was employed by the federal government as a Ship Wright at hunter's point and Mare Island. He also lived in Sonoma for many years before moving to Mokelumne Hill with his wife Karen where he resided since 1993...

Mokelumne Hill, CA...Donald Kay "D.K." Lawson 1937 - 2013 passed away at 76 years old on October 28th in Mokelumne Hill. He was born on September 4th, 1937 in Laura, Oklahoma to Harry Donald Lawson and Mary Opal Koontz. He graduated from Stockton High School. He was with Caltrans in Calaveras Coounty for 25 years. He was also an avid horseman, loved animals, hunting and fishing..

San Andreas, CA...Jake Chatfield, 41 of San Andreas passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25. He was born in Jackson on October 3, 1972 attended Calaveras High School. Jake was well known within the community for his kind spirit and passion for skateboarding, gardening and snowboarding. Jake loved being a plumber, he was a Cranberry Farmer in Oregon, He loved Bob Marley. Jake was a special person with a big heart he was a big Teddy Bear who loved mother earth and was very giving. He inspired others with his genuine love for life, mother earth and pursuit for a peaceful existence..

Valley Springs, CA.....Travis Lee Cassel passed away in his home in Valley Springs on Oct. 5th 2013. He was 75 years old. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 6th, 1938. Reno, NV... Master Sgt. Michael Landsberry was born on January 20, 1968, in Birmingham, Ala. He gave is life trying to talk down the 7th grader that took his life and then his own. He attended McQueen High School in Reno and graduated in 1986. He lettered four consecutive years in swimming, soccer and cross country. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corps.
